Who though, it is not like the NFL or NBA where players have no say. Anyone that gets offered up to us has to agree to it. I can't see us getting anyone worth it or that we can't already compete for if they are off contract

If they give us an also ran, it would be a kick in the guts for similar players already at our club.
A player that has gone under the radar somewhat is Taylan Da Silva, Galvin's best mate who were inseparable during pathways.
With the club negotiating an extension for our capt Api, which will take him into his late thirties, he will need a bench player for support. I don't think DaSilva will want to play second fiddle for another 4 years.
He'll probably end up in Perth.
We are likely to lose both LG and DaSilva.
Enter Hope. He would be happy to play bench for the rest of his career imo.
LG's loss will free up Luai. Latu Fainu and Makasini will make Luai’s job easier if LG goes. It's to no surprise to hear that the board waited for Latu to get fit to return to the NRL and the breathing space of the bye round before meeting to discuss how to move LG on.

But agree re Galvin, I no longer see any benefits of keeping him here, but I wouldn't rule out a player swap either, e.g. him for KPP (N'C) might be handy for us?
I think a fee deal at this time doesn't help our cause for this season, but certainly for next season.

There's is a reason why we made an out of the blue signing of Hope. He's all heart,a good defender and is perfect to give Apu a 10min spell each half.

I think he's a reasonably talented player, and I don't think he's tanking, but the journos have him as the second coming, are these clubs looking at him atm?
I thought he went OK last year and believed it would take time to Gell with Luai, but it's just not working.

Wests Tigers to grant Galvin permission to negotiate with rival clubs​

The Wests Tigers are poised to grant Lachlan Galvin permission to negotiate with rival clubs after a board meeting on Monday.
The Tigers will allow the 19-year-old playmaker to open talks with interested parties before he becomes a free agent on November 1, but with conditions.
Sources with knowledge of the situation talking on the condition of anonymity told the Herald one of those conditions will be reconsidering his legal case against the club following allegations of bullying against Galvin.
The other condition likely to be attached to formal permission to negotiate is that a transfer fee, which is still being determined, be paid to the Tigers.
The Wests Tigers board met on Monday and agreed to put the Galvin saga to bed, but chief executive Shane Richardson wants a positive outcome for the club.
Richardson declined to comment when contacted on Wednesday morning.
There is a growing feeling at Tigers headquarters that Galvin could depart before June 30 if the conditions are met. The club is hopeful Galvin’s replacement, Latu Fainu, will be available to return from injury after the bye this weekend.
Galvin last month informed the club of his desire to depart at the end of his contract, with his manager Isaac Moses knocking back Richardson’s attempts to offer him a lucrative upgrade and extension offer worth close to $6 million.
Galvin is on the radar of the Parramatta Eels, while whispers about a move to the Bulldogs have grown louder in recent weeks, despite a public declaration by general manager Phil Gould that his club would not pursue his services.
“We are not involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion and we won’t be involved in the Lachlan Galvin discussion,” Gould said. “We wish him all the best.”
The Bulldogs are yet to offer incumbent halfback Toby Sexton an extension and don’t appear in a hurry to lock down their No.7, who became a free agent last November.
Parramatta haven’t hidden their desire to lure Galvin, a childhood Eels supporter. Parramatta coach Jason Ryles sees Galvin as the ideal replacement for the Newcastle-bound Dylan Brown, who will join the Knights next year on a record $13mil deal. over 10 years.
Tigers coach Benji Marshall was asked about Galvin’s future following his team’s loss to South Sydney at Campbelltown on Sunday night, but declined to share his thoughts on the matter.
Asked if he had a view on what the board should do, Marshall said: “I do, but it’s not one I’m going to share.”
“That’s up to [the board] whatever happens there, but I’m not going to comment on it to be honest.”
Marshall was then asked if he expected clarity to come from the meeting.
“I’m sure you’ll find out, like you usually do,” he said.

I feel the right thing typically to do is make the player play see out his contract. At the same time he is just a kid who we haven't put much into and he is desperate to get out for some bizarre reason.

We can't win here. He has been shithouse this season. I wonder if he will come on or not. I figure just let him go.

Stef is a similar example. I think he is playing about the same as when he was with us. He hasn't improved. Bellamy's coaching is nothing special. He can't take a kid with a certain amount of talent and give him more talent. Does Galvin have elite player ability ? Maybe but he hasn't shown that with us.
