I thought I read that all QF will qualify. With Scotland well short of meeting the minimum criteria it would be a bit odd. Means we won't have the chance to compel them to meet the domestic criteria.

Yes. I honestly thought Samoa would blow them away. All credit to Scitland for showing some character but Samoa need to step up to the mark if they want to be up there with Tonga.

Two friends are Scottish ( as in born and lived there) ,they love RL but dont support Scotland as believe they're a bunch of Northerners, Kiwis and Aussies playing in Blue jerseys. They don't have a proper domestic comp either ... what are they doing at the WC? Time to revert back to GB.

And punish Wales and Ireland who are doing ok domestically??

If Scotland aren't up to it just leave them out. Or help them.

Any GB side will just be full of English players anyway so why deny the other countries.

All of the players are English already.it would ensure that you'd have a strong Northern Hemisphere team as game dominating by Southern Hemisphere teams. Ireland & Walescould play in an emerging nations cup.

Wales: I wouldn't call them an established nation. USA played their first international in 1953 but still not established. Yugoslavia played in the 50s 60s yet Serbia are an emerging nation.

Does the inclusion of the likes of Scotland & Ireland do anything for their domestic comp?

If Scotland did win yesterday I would hope the RLIF vetoes them like they did USA last time round. But probably not, they seem to have a total blind sport regarding Scotland's failure to meet minimum standards

Would the RFL be better to invest money ( if have some) elsewhere in England or unis , Armed forces? Even if you doubled the number of players in Scotland it would still only be a 6 team comp at best (if that).

I understand my opinion one Great Britain is an u popular one so I don’t aim to get into a huge discussion about it. But I would rather they revert to Great Britain which was always an iconic brand that had a point of difference to union. A game Wales host in league would attract maybe 1,000 people top. Play a Great Britain team in Wales with all the best players (even if none are Welsh atm) and u would get a far larger crowd.

England can play Wales as a version of origin to help select the GB team. Scotland can play England A. Ireland would obviously be there own country. Jamaica, Cook Islands. Canada and Serbia could fill the World Cup spots. My worry is for a young talent like Reagan Grace the pinnacle of the sport for him atm is getting smashed repeatedly. Poor guy will probs never play Australia or NZ (they haven’t played England in ages either) and if they do will be flogged.

Probably get hammered for it but that’s my opinion

If the WC was home grown players only Wales would be 4th/5th in the world, around the same level as PNG and France.
