Can the Sydney Roosters win the Grand Final again this year?

The Roosters beat Newcastle 28-4 while without Jake Friend, Michael Gordon and Joseph Manu. And they did it in second gear. The only Newcastle points came from a try by SKD.

Beating Newcastle is hardly anything to boast about.

I bet you're proud when Mitchell Pearce kicks a puppy too.
Or does something to a puppy...

Newcastle are an underrated side that has lost many games by small margins. The Roosters was one of the few teams that beat Newcastle handsomely.

What is so funny? What I wrote is true. The Sydney Roosters showed how to put a game against the Knights to bed early. I thank Trent Robinson for showing how it is done.

Meanwhile the Roosters are clear second with only Melbourne to overtake.

Come finals time your team will be cannon fodder. You're a f**ken idiot if you think otherwise.

I'm seriously wondering if any team is going to stop Melbourne.

Its still a long way to go mate.

A month ago most were telling us the Panthers were done and dusted and utter shit.

Not that they are setting the world on fire, but the fact teams can have their fortunes change in the space of 3 or 4 weeks says alot.

Footy is a funny game....

Roosters had another great win last night. Nobody can stop Latrell Mitchell in full flight. He could be the difference between winning and losing the Grand Final.

That 2nd half performance was awesome. SST is a Lolo clone.

Add Cordner, Friend and Gordon to that team and we're shaping up as the Storms biggest threat.

One team always rises post Origin and it looks like it might be the Roosters.

The Storm are still clear faves but anyone who thinks we'll be cannon fodder is naive.

I must be naive then. Not as much cannon fodder as Merge & the likes, but I'm still not convinced.

If we aren't contenders then who are?

The Sea Eagles just got beat by 50. The Broncos will struggle to make the top 4 now and looked poor on Friday. The Eels were impressive but we beat them by 40 two months ago and they're missing their first choice FB and hooker. The Cowboys won't win it without JT and Scott.

So who does that leave as a form line? The Sharks but it's hard to go b2b.

Are you saying that only the Storm can win it? Just curious as to who you think are more serious contenders than the Roosters given we're a hugely impressive 14-5.

Sharks & Storm. Both sides should blow the doors off the roosters.

If they play like that second half for long periods they will be up there. They have been inconsistent in games this year and I still think Storm/Sharks are the top.
