I'm not having a dig or anything, but the raiders and tigers forward packs just dont match most packs in the comp. They'll have to play that extra bit better in the forwards to win games, otherwise carney and prince won't be doing much.

the knights pack is nothing to write home about either

Did i have a go? Have a cry anyway. We have 2 internationals, a nsw rep and a country rep, plus 3 junior rep players in our pack. I'm very happy with it. ;-)

Because u dont know who we've signed. We have signed twice as much players as we have over the past 3 years. Theres two under NZ under 17's props. Prop called royal from penrith, a couple of forwards returning from injury next year and our sg ball winning side is full of great prospects. We have twice has much depth in the forwards we have had in the past 2 years. We one the grand final with a bench of marquet, grief, o'brien and a 19 yr old abraham. starting props of perry and parsons. Nothing overly impressive but we will have something similar this year. Johns will have plenty of go forward this year and that can only make newcastle a huge threat for the title.

Stuart Fieldon is contracted with the Bradford Bulls until the end of 2007 and they have said that they have no intentions of releasing him before his contract expires.

Hope so ;-) But if we finish anywhere in the 8 and have a fit johns and a healthy forward pack we have just as much chance as anyone.

I am shocked and stunned. Macca was my favourite Raiders player. I think his departure reflects dissatisfaction with the coaching. And Elliott now seems to have been taking lessons from Brian Smith in more ways than one - with the number of players who want to leave, and the club "not standing in the way" of a player "taking a great opportunity" elsewhere.

Are u raiders fans on the fence about his departure??? i notice when ur teams credibilty was questioned in some threads, some raiders would say mclinden is one of our best players, our main attacking weapon etc. I thought he was very happy there 2.

I think the reason most Raiders fans are on the fence including myself is that we are all waiting for Todd Carney to arrive on the big stage and with Macca gone that makes it a bit easier. Also if losing Mclinden means we gain Fielden than I can cop that.

there are two big issues
if it makes carneys run into firsts easier and we get feilden i can cop it
if carney gets jammed in PL again and feilden is not gotten it will be uppercut time, thats why im on the fence, 2 issues that arnt known yet will determine my feelings on it

I'm one of the doubters tipping the Raiders to finish well down in 2005, Fielden would make an enormous difference to my judgement. But someon else posted that Fielden is under contract for next year and I don't think that club would let a gun like him walk.
