I Picked the raiders to finish 15th last year, so I was abit wrong.
As for next year im going to give it back to Souths.

Canberra always seems to do a bit better than their on paper lineup dictates- even if it is finishing 14th instead of 15th like last year.

What's their top 17 look like at the moment?

well 14th isnt a spoon is it? we were HEAVLY backed and tipped to win it but found a way to avoid it, all with a shocking injury toll. One would think that wont occur again so we are IMO an illogical choice for the spoon, especially when you look at other sqauds, some are IMO worse then ours

find me a whisker the langth of distance between Newcastle and Canberra and then you'll have a point, but from where i stand we were always about 400km's away ;-)

depends who you ask
In my opinion

1. Schifcofske 2. Chalk 3. Ale 4. Frawley (hopefully no injuries) 5. Graham 6. Smith 7. Carney 8. Miller 9. Woolford 10. Thompson 11. Lomu 12. Hodgson 13. Croker

14. Withers 15. Tongue 16. Weyman 17. Tilse/Learoyd-Lars

and we did it after losing our last 8 games... there was never any pressure on us from newcastle, the closest thing to spoon pressure was needing the knights to beat the dragons and Manly to make up whats left of the 70 F/A differential beating canberra... realistically it was NEVER gonna happen... as much as im sure you prayed for it :)

I dont think there is a gutsier team in the NRL...Last year they had so many injuries and the referees tried there best to destroy there season by some horibile decisions..They wont be wooden spooners.

Naah mate you guys were out of the running and uninteresting for a while....the interst down that end was with Souths and the Knights who just kept winning.
I was enjoying our winning streak while quietlyhoping Manly missed the 8.

Injuries killed their season, not the refs... You could use that ref thing for most teams.

please...... tigers were one of the favourites for the spoon this time last year and look how they ended up. januaray/feburary predictions are a waste of time.

Its too cold in Canberra for them to go too bad. They were decimated last season and only really gave up with 2 or 3 rounds to go.

Their top 17 is a decent footy team, capable of finishing in the top 8 and winning 75% of their games at home. If Smith can play 20 games they won't finish last. I think they will finish ahead of the Warriors, Souths, Cronulla and possible a few more.

I got into terrible trouble last year, by giving my two cents worth on who would get the spoon  so this year, I'm going to stay right away from it. But relating to this topic, Canberra wont get the spoon.
