Of course we wanted to win.

Fact is though he will probably make 11 changes for Blackpool (maybe keep Giggs or Anderson) and you cannot throw that many kids into a game vs a team who really needed to win. I thought we played some alright stuff, but at times the defending from midfield and defence was lacking.

Its alright though, thats how players learn, I love the desperation that this match is even dragged up, how are Barca or Bayern doing in there meaningless cup comps? Who really cares?



We won the cup winners by stuffing Barca the first year after the ban (thats when they banned English teams to give other countries a chance to win the Euro cup by the way). This has been merged with the UEFA cup and then Europa. So if you are claiming past UEFA as Europa then we will as well. Its not really a comp i want us to be in though, i'm sure Bayern will enjoy it though, they may get a chance to finally beat Bolton at home this time..
