Lookin at you too Chach

But seriously mate I dont see how you could link that with an inablility to sign Zillman .... imo Carney' signature will make if easier for Zillman to make a decision to stay ... Carney has set the standard for others to follow and we can now easily sign a group of marquee players.

I also take not of your comments re Loz being a key factor .... as I said previously, congratulations to all including those that assisted management in getting TC over the line.

I'm a happy man.
Yes, I agree keeping TC makes it more likely for Zilly to stay, but if we went in and offered Todd $500K off the bat then there's not too many more bikkies to go around for Zillman is there.

IMO Zillman is a bigger asset to the club than Todd and on the open market I fear he could be worth over $300K. That's a lot of cap space tied up in 2 young players.

But these are 2 guys you can build a club around no doubt...and the sort of talent that just may attract other young players to the team.

Guys like Nev are replaceable and aren't worth getting in a bidding war for. If he wants to stay that's great, otherwise ship him off to the GC or Townsville so they keep their hands off Zillman. Other than Zilly I think Campo is our third priority.

I dont hink I suggested that we offer TC $500K off the bat Chach.

Imo offering TC $400K and Zillman say $400K gives us a good base ... if we offer 4 other players in the region of $250K we gain the service of six players in the most important positions on the field ... in other words 40 - 50% of the cap spent on your top six players.

Not sure about Campo yet ... he certainly showed glimpses of stardom in a few games ... if he realises that potential this season he is certainy worth throwing that $250K towards.

Isn't there some indication his contract was even less than $400 pa and more like $350?

We're talking to Campo, Purts and Henry now.

After the Raiders performance against the Knights I hope the ink has dried on Carney's contract.

Maybe management have allowed a clause in his contract that if dont win one of the first two away games he can opt out of his contract
