I think the powers that be at our club are of the belief TMM is going to be something special and therefore little point Moylan being trialled in the position as TMM is already a 5/8 and has the potential to be one of the best in the game. The bottom line is TMM possesses all the skillset that Moyland possesses but has more to his game overall, particularly, he has greater acceleration & speed and has a long kicking game whereas Moylan does not.

It still makes no sense because TMM has been injured for a long time now. It was a perfect time to see if Moylan has what it takes at 6 and whether DWZ has what it takes at 1. It would have told us something, at least; instead, we put a forward in the halves and tread water. Stupid.

So explain wasting time with Cartwright there then?

Totally agree with the powers that be at the club

Because they are awaiting the return of TMM from injury and Cartwright is a stopgap measure...

Tom.

So why not let Moylan be the stopgap measure just to see how he goes there AND to see how DWZ goes at FB? It's not that difficult to figure out.

Maybe they figure Moylan has a lot on his plate with the pressure of Origin and newly captaining the side. An 18 year old half back running the team. Maybe they want to try and ease them in without having to change the way the side plays. I dunno.

Because Moylan is probably seen as a defensive liability at 5/8. And I would imagine that they don't want to experiment with two positions in the spine at once.

I don't mind Cartwright at 6 in theory (in theory communism works). Gets the ball in his hands much more often, doesn't need to be protected defensively (in theory) and Cleary has the organisation/kicking covered.

As long as the experiment goes no further I'm ok with it.

Im not against Cartwright playing there but I don't see why we wouldn't just try Moylan there, TMM is a few weeks away so we can have a little look at Moylan atleast.

We are really struggling to beat bad teams atm our defence is that bad and we are so error prone it is depressing as Chris said.

The three games Cartwright has played in the 6 we've averaged 8 or 9 points more a game and had our highest and third highest scoring games of the season. He has to be hidden in defence, but what number he is wearing doesn't really change that or mean that he has to defend in a certain position.

It looked to me (after Cartwright got beaten by Ted the last time) that Wallace defended wider with Cartwright in the middle. We looked solid then... for 5 minutes atleast.

Moylan into Origin... we have fullbacks on both wings yet I can see the reserve grade centre getting a run ahead of them both.

Hopefully Edwards hets a promotion and we cycle between all 3 guys in our back 3. Giving each a shot to put their hand up.
