Cartwright is spot on. Good hit, unfortunate that Waddell got injured but Thompson just went in to shoulder charge him. 3 weeks is probably stiff on him tbh, it was just a timing issue but the judiciary is prone to overreact when people are injured. Skeepe is the only person seeing an elbow and we all know he's f**king blind...

Its the same thing that happened to Brath Anasta 2 years ago when cutie shoulder charged him. Braith was falling into it and got his face smashed up. Unfortunate but it happens.

on another note, Skeepe was ( and still is ) claiming that Alan Tongue is a better player, and more deserving of a SOO and Australian Jersey then Nathan Hindmarsh, do i need to go on further...

It comes with Cartwrights presence though...

I wouldn't mess with him and most people wouldn't, he knows it

Its part of his demeaner (spelling?)

Why? He was hardly the toughest forward when he played. He was more concerned with off-loading and ball playing than running over players, and pulling off big hits.

Hoss is a top notch wanker imo. He's just a f*ckwit of a human being and his media whinging is pathetic. It's typical Seagull behaviour though.

Cartwright has never minced his words, and as others have said he is going to back his player...it wasn't intentional and I doubt there was an elbow.
Injuries happen all the time it's unfortunate but that's how it is, suck it up Raiders fans (because you guys are the only ones whinging).

Cartwright's a douche but that's the type of coach you want, look at the Titans and their discipline.

Because there's the possibility Waddell may of slid into it ala Anasta did to Hunt.

Not saying he did, but without any access to replay footage it's hard to judge on pure memory alone.

John Cartwright has fast become the most foul, loathsome human being to hold an NRL coaching role.

Every single time his player does something wrong, he tries to influence the judiciary with his post match comments, saying they shouldn't be suspended despite the fact that they're a pack of absolute thugs.

But this time, he's gone too far. He has actually applauded Bodene Thompson's late, high, deliberate elbow that broke Travis Waddell's jaw:

I sincerely hope Cartwright finds himself on the end of one of these "accidents". Then he can tell us all how great it is while his jaw is wired shut, like poor Travis Waddell's is at the moment.

Didn't catch that. Must have been suspended for a seperate incident idf thats the case. You need to lay off the meth and get some shut eye Skeepe. You're losing your sh*t.

No idea. The fact that the Raiders say it was is good enough for me. There's no incentive for them to lie about it, and they'd know better than anyone.

So its OK to follow the Raiders line in the media, but not the Titans.

Ok then.....

Tonguey is a champion. Deserves a rep jumper for sure, but thats a long shot. Hindy is off the pace so far this year though I reckon. Just like the Eels. But they'll come good in time.

It was a hard hit gone wrong. In a full contact no helmet sport we are going to see broken jaws from accidents from time to time. That Bodene got charged with careless grading of 5 is correct.... it's a careless tackle that caused big time damage. Waddell's injury is a terible one, can't argue there.

If he was charged with deliberate contact Bodene would have simply beaten the charge at the judiciary, and if he was charged with reckless it would have been reckless grade 2-3 which have ended in the same result. The contact was upper arm/lower shoulder, it was a little lazy on a smaller man but not deliberate and the Gold Coast youngster doesn't need to be rubbed out for half a season.

Personally, I thought it was a great shot when watched in real time

When it was slowed, the top of the shoulder on impact came in contact with the head but there was no malice or intention.

I thought that the Gold Coast player was very unfortunate to be charged with that.

I agree with Wiz that due to this charge, they are setting a precedent that any contact at all, regardless of intent will result in a player being charged.

The way the judiciary is heading, I can see a time in the near future where shoulder charges are made illegal.

i dont think cartwright is in the wrong of course he is going to defend his players and trying to get them off at the judicuary i think people should be questioning him if he didn't do that.

on the incident itself if he didn't break wadells jaw we would've heard nothing more about it and i think that is the real issue here if a player is hurt in an unfortuate accident that is part of the game. The suspension is always far worse and thats what really annoys me they judicuary should take the case on it's merrits not how badly the person is hurt

How is that fair on us though? As far as I was aware it was illegal for the shoulder to make contact with the head. We lose our hooker for 12 or more weeks, they lose him for 3....

Regardless of whether it was intentional or not (which I highly doubt it was)
