the catalans had a much improved season from last year held a top six spot for the the first half of season but fell away through injuries & form slump beating good teams but losing to teams they should beat, loses to hull kr & wigan at homes where costly.
Highlight: the challenge cup runs beating teams like hull & wigan to get to final along with the home win over leeds & st helens.
The promise: look on the face value they should be top 6 next year, the french boys are getting seasoned & potter is getting some good talent through the system.
The likes of khatabbi, bosc, duport, stacul, mounis, gossard, k & a bentley, gussiet, griffi all look to be regulars in the 17.
Potter looks to be building a strong 20 man team, the problem is which french backs to start & which not to come 2008 will the imports.
Jones was the stand out import so the question remains will gresque be in cats colours or will macguire get first go at 7.
next year: a geniune top 6 chance, also potential of games in barcelona & the hope fakir runs into a injury free run because he can put them into winning positions with he barnstorming runs.

Is France playing any internationals this year ?

It was a BIG mistake having their catalan contigent, playing well into the off-seaon after their first season of full-time conditioning.

Their bodies needed resting, they didn't get it.

Fakir fell into a heap last year, and a number of french players gave way this year.

Give them all a rest and play Elite guys for the itnernationals.
