They made it 7 SL games without a lose to move into 2nd place on the table with only Wigan to play this weekend who can make them drop 1 place into 3rd, well done.

38-30 over Castleford.

One worrying thing though, every game they seem to get someone sin binned or sent off, this is going to hurt them something shocking one day, they need to get their discipline better and they also have one of the worst defenses in the comp, hopefully their new coach whomever he is gets their defense right, once they fix that up, they will def be a top SL club.

At the moment, only Quins and Castleford have a worse defense with Quins letting in 295 and Cas letting in 381 compared to les Catalans 280.

I watched the game. It was pretty good apart from the now obligatory rash of penalties that are seemingly blown, if not on every set, then every other set. It's very frustrating and has slightly lessened the appeal of RL in recent years (although that appeal slack has been taken up by the athletes/intensity improving - note the Friday match Saints v Wire which was simply breathtaking).

Anyway, I digress. Les Cats are a lot less predictable than they were last year and last night you really got the impression that physically they were in control, even when Cas came back.

McGuire is still too casual for me, and Carlaw doesn't seem to be working enough, but Gorrell is such a player! Pelo was outstanding. Fakir only played sparingly (I think it was him but he did so little I can't be sure) and Mogg was brilliant too.

A commanding display in which they were always the better side.
