I got absolutely savaged on here for suggesting that Florimo was a "grave jumper".

Here's the proof people. He did it before with the Sharks, and he's doing it now the Titans.

How is he a grave jumper? He states a theoretical answer that if a team falls over the Central Coast Bears will be ready to fill the void. He also everytime states that the CCBears want to earn a license through hard work and credentials (which you guys amazingly keep ignoring). Here's a tip for the Sharks, Storm and Titans.. make bloody money and your clubs financially viable ffs. It's not the Bears, Florimo's or my fault that they are/were in these situations. It's your bloody managements fault. It's about time some of you guys acknowledge that your boards/management have to take responsibility for driving your clubs into the ground.

How is he a grave jumper?

Because he has publicly stated, twice, that if a club dies, the bears will be happy to "jump in their grave" so to speak. In the case of the Sharks in 2009 he actively lit the fuse under it. Through these comments He is trying to influence the NRL into not assisting these clubs and is therefore vicariously supporting the demise of an existing club, and people (particularly supporters of those clubs) don't like how ruthless that is.

I don't know why Bears supporters get so uppity about the accusations, it's the best possible strategy from Florimo. Sure, it upsets people but Florimo knows where he and the bid stands and is punching hard for his bid. Maybe you guys need to let go of the propaganda that this bid is all flowers and sunshine and the bears are cherub faced angels intent only on sprinkling magic dust on the NRL landscape?

He can't do that because if it will make him confront the fact that the Central Coast simply isn't a market the NRL is that interested in.

The Ipswich bid is in. Its Perth vs Gosford (high risk high gain vs stability but no growth) for spot two. And Gosford is comming second.

Of course it isn't a market the NRL is interested in.. that's why the NRL keep in constant contact with Greg Florimo about how the bid is building and growing. Why the NRL have approved merchandise sales with the official NRL logo on it. Why the NRL have encouraged membership drives.

But hey, if you honestly think you know more about the CCBears bid and where it stands compared to what I know then good luck to you. Like I said previously there is alot of stuff beowulf and I know which has yet to be posted :D

Surely it would be best for the bears bid for them to brand themselves as central coast-north Sydney. The cc really doesn't have the population by itself

I think thats the de facto result by calling it the Central Coast Bears.

Market research done years ago indicated that the Central Coast don't want 'North Sydney' in the name, and northern Sydney siders would only support the team if it played in red and black and was called the Bears.

You're right though, there won't ever be a 'Central Coast only' side, just like there won't ever be an 'Illawarra only' side again. Combining with a traditional link was the best option south of Sydney, and the same applies for north of Sydney.

It really is smart marketing. Promote it as Central Coast in Gosford, Bears in North Sydney. Win-win.

So if its not 'Central Coast only' (your words), its then only partially a Central Coast side...

So partially Central Coast, partially what? Sydney?

Cheque please.

The CC Bears jersey stolen by new West Sydney soccer team...

Now that is an outrage!

I hate that you can clone another sporting teams branding in elements, but so long as its sufficiently different (ie, different sport) its ok to.

GWS really sh!ts me - they are a "West" Sydney club wearing Orange, Black and White, very clearly leaching off the Tigers.

This isn't as big a deal, as the Bears are a North Sydney club. At least this mob are in a different part of the city.

Actually I don't like it. Which is a shame... i was looking forward to the West Sydney A league team.

The lack of detail makes the strip very plain and the white shorts don't fit in.

CCB's have the black and red hoop strip spot on.

Bad kit for a soccer team, cheap rip off of an other teams strip. Soccer kits should be plain not striped, it suits the bore fest that is their game.

Celtic should give up now, they are clearly ripping off other teams.

Does anybody seriously think the A-League will have 2 Sydney teams in 5 years time?
