Adelaide would have met the criteria if given a chance. It was a big mistake cutting them at the end of '98 since they had built up an awesome team for '99 - if allowed to compete they would have made the 8.

I am sick of hearing about Singo's money - what if he gets hit by a bus tomorrow and his heirs have no interest in supporting yet another NSW team.

Firstly the Central Coast is still all rugby league, and how can you blame Manly? We stayed up there visiting schools and other things to promote the game, but the Central Coast people didn't want us so we went back to Brookvale. Its not Manly's fault the CC don't have a team, its the CC people's fault, I just feel sorry for the 4000 or 5000 people who showed up all the time.

As a student on the central coast - Manly didn't go to any schools. The bears did. Jason Taylor used to go to schools in his own time. He used to go before school started go help kids with goal kicking, during lunch he would come too. Manly never came. Some rugby union team came but manly didn't.Matt M said:Hulkamanic 36 said:Meh. It is Manlys fault. They never wanted to be on the CC. They let all the jnrs go (Orford, Stringer, O'Meley) and if they picked any bears players (Taylor) they were screwed. Players like Andrew Frew got picked when they turned down people like Billy Moore, Larson - all highly respected people in the bears and on the central coast. Manly did what they could to stay alive. They raped North Sydney and the Central Coast

What a load of rubbish.....Manly did not let those players go,a board made up of Manly and norths FC called the Northern eagles did.

I totally agree about norths getting shafted, they took the innitiative to move out of sydney, they did what the league wanted, they got shafted. The central coast has always proved to be wealthy in jnr rugby league talent.
The gold coast also gets my vote for an nrl team, they have a large area, with an equally large population, there has to be a second team in the brisbane vacinity.
Some might talk about player numbers to support 2 new teams but i feel if you start these 2 new teams you will have enough playing strength to cover them.
