Lost 42-32 to the dogs.
We were down 18-12 at halftime, but clawed back to 24 all. The dogs got a bit serious and ran up a lead, but we never gave up and scored the last two tries.
Fairweather - very good gamewith some real mongrel in his hitups. He is ready for NYC again.
Tua - some really hard hit ups, but still has L plates on - poor defence.
Williams - his worst game in a while with poor defence down his side of the field.
Vuna - decent hit out, mostly in the second row.
Fawcett - very classy player
Api Pewhairangi - scored a decent try and did some good ball distribution work - the 18 year old is improving.
Ndaira - very quiet when at half, sparked up later at hooker
Edwards - great game - i think he was knocked out for a second in a head clash - went down like he was out cold, but jumped to his feet and staggered back into the line. The ref wanted to stop play, but by the time he ran over Eddy was back in the line - not sure if he knew what ground he was at though. The trainer ran on and told Eddy to come off, but he refused till he had done another hit up, just to prove he wasn't hurt. When Eddy came back on he scored a barge over try against a bunch of guys who have played firstgrade and tackled himself to a standstill. A tough, tough display, but not sure he will remember it.
Wyborn - improving every week. He is a very versatile footballer.
Miller - played about 70 minutes, mostly at prop. He is over his injuries and improving rapidly. He is a smart footballer who raely does the wrong thing.
Vlaicky - worked hard, but made few inroads this week.
Marvin Filipo was very strong in the forwards, but he is a dumb footballer. Butchered a couple of tries.
In the preview on NSWRL.com they say 10 of the dogs have played firstgrade and have 230 games or so between them, while we had 1 firstgrader, Ndaira, with 29 games (Vuna made 2).
They caught us out down the Api Pewhairangi, Williams, Tua side of the field 3 or 4 times, but apart from that, our very young and inexperienced side were actually the better side.
