Not sure if anyone watched both telecasts.. i thought the Fox Sports
crew did a much better job at the commentry.
Ch. 9 crew were terrible.. dry and boring seemed like they were commentating a contest of sheepdog's herding sheep./
Daley and Smith however were great.. added to the occasion..
anyone else find this?

I don't really rate Daley in commentary tbh.

On the flipside, I love listening to Warren Smith. Probably my favourite NRL announcer atm.

To answer the question, I heard a bit of Fox's coverage and i really enjoyed Smith's enthusiasm.

Warren Smith sounds like he is trying to hard sometimes. Sounds forced to me. Much prefer channel 9s commentry over fox.

I agree. Smith is a try hard. He's always focussed on saying stuff to try and get it as an audio clip on a future montage, rather than just commentating.

And he's a wanker. ;-)

Thats exactly how i feel about Ray Warren.. i always sense he is tryin too hard... over the top most the time.

I'm sick of the Ray Warren love-fest in the media.

His voice is becoming tiresome and old. He fails to hit the highs when needed.

Rabs is way past it.

Just listen to some of his stuff from the last 90s and early in this decade and you'll see how much he's slipped.

Almost forget what a great caller he once was.

Warren Smith to me is Andrew Voss. Never misses an opportunity to rubbish a player (remember the Manu Vatuvei game against Parra, it took him years to live that one down). I'd love to see Warren Smith and Gus go head to head on a panel, they seem to have completely opposite views at times, it could get interesting.

Warren Smith and Phil Gould would be my dream commentary team.

Peter Sterling is good on the Footy Show but he does not have any emotion. A team could score a match winning try in a grand final and Peter Sterling would commentate the moment with as much enthusiasm as the robotic voice of Stephen Hawking.
