Please gag Phil Gould. His dribbling commentary is annoying. He is using his position to take potshots at victims of his bigoted point of view.

As in today he couldnt wait for the first mistake by Broncos fullback to say " I told you so" in reference to his crticism of Lockyers move to 5/8.

As if he can teach Wayne Bennett anything.

I noticed that, I was screaming at him to shut up. But he didn't.

Sterling's biases towards Parramatta and to an extent Newcastle, are what I'd called "reserved".

Chief's are obvious, but he gives the opposition a fair wrap in the process, and while he makes Newcastle his favourites every week, he doesn't crap on about them for the whole game.

Paul Vautin's passion for Manly is just funny - everyone knows they are struggling, and hence it is humourous to listen to Vautin giving his team a wrap.

But Phil Gould's ramblings in the commentary box are neither funny nor insightful. He offers a lot of experience, but few examples of a balanced view. Unfortunately he tends to linger on the mistakes of the referees (to the point of spoiling a broadcast), and can see no other team except the Roosters.

It makes for frustrating viewing - you know he is a successful coach, but you can't help wanting someone to mute his microphone.
He makes a lot of comments, but few of them offer much insight into the game itself.

I would suggest that Ch 9 would be better served replacing him with someone who can offer comments for both teams - a balanced view, or at least one not focused on the Roosters, and specifically Fittler.
Even outside of a Roosters game, he is still unbearably frustrating to listen to.

In the whole game yesterday (Broncs v Warriors), I think he said 2 decent things, and they were both about Stacey Jones. And I think he is in love with Lockyer, couldn't shut up about him... no matter what he did. He also made a lot of obvious statements that everyone already knew anyway. And generally just annoyed the crap out of me.... he is the sole reason why I either switch channels or leave the room at half-time on Friday night footy.... can't stand him so can't watch the half-time wrap up.....

I heard him going on about Lockyer saying when Lockyer got hurt.

He said something like

Lockyer just gets back on his feet, he doesn't just lie down.

i hate listening to phil gould commentating especailly when the roosters are playing hes so biased its not funy!

there are two times that really stand out in my mind that annoyed me,
last year knights v roosters in sydney and the knights score a pretty good try but all gus had to talk about was how wonderful the roosters player was that came running over to try stop us from scoring and then he was saying how good it was how he didnt give up

the other time was a roosters game but i forgot who they were playing it mightve been the bulldgos and at holden half time gus talked about the roosters for the whole time and coudnt stop praising them and then just quickly at the end said something like 'and the bulldogs are playing quite well' then showed who had made the most tackles. and im pretty sure that the doggies were winning at that stage too

potato head makes me

Yeah, he said that champion players try and get up and play on when they get hurt after Lockyer was injured and got back up.... but he didn't mention it at all when Meyers was playing hurt (I think it was Meyers anyway)... he only said it when Lockyer got back up  . And according to Gould, that would make me a champion soccer player, cos I always try and get back up and play on if I'm hurt.... 8)

Well Meyers is not a champion player, so Gould was correct only mentioning Lockyer. ;-)

I don't have a problem with Sterlo... only Gus and Fatty. They are so bias it's not even funny anymore. They definatly have their fave teams.
Cheif gives constructive talk about both sides. Vossy and Rabs are the only ones that arn't bias.

I'm no fan of potato heads, but for once I thought a couple of his remarks re Lockyer tending to cramp his team mates by running across field too much, were on the money. Whats the truth in the rumour doing the rounds that Vosey is set to replace Rabs permanantly?

Geez Gus can be a moron, what about near half-time in the Broncos-Warriors match he goes "Gee this is a high quality game" this after around 15 sets in a row where players were dropping the ball.

Pfffft Gould just go back to helping your precious goosters get to the Grand Final.

Gus is extremely bias towards the Roosters, but to say fatty is bias towards Manly, although true, is different. Fatty, well to me, makes it comical. He craps on a bit but never seriously boasts about how great manly is.

You can add

Warren Smith=tigers
Laurie Daley=Saints (and that was against the team he used to play for )

That was so he could set Shaun Berrigan to run riot.

It worked a treat.

That was the Broncos ploy, as the Warriors expected him to do what all the other 5/8 do. :D

Also did anyone else notice the Broncos were swapping positions to confuse the Warriors..

What people forget was Lockyer was a 5/8 when he came to the Broncos but had to change positions as we had Kevin Walters as 5/8.
