We all know Hadley is a terrible commentator, but it's the way he's calling tries (maybe he always has, not sure). There'll be great lead up work by the team with the footy, Hadley will be about 1 player behind the actual play, catching up to where the ball actually is. The player has scored a try while Hadley's high pitched monotone is rambling on like he's depressed, then all of a sudden, TRY, IT'S A TRY. We can see it's a try Ray, you backwards f**k. Try calling the play and using some insight.

I've noticed it as well lately. I'm not sure what's going on there but Dave Smith needs to throw a rocket up channel 9 arse. Maybe smith has a bit more of a bite than what gallop had!

That's another thing which grinds my gears. AFL gets too much air time in Sydney news. Why? Because only a minority of Sydneysiders give a s*** about it, and because NRL hardly gets any attention in Melbourne media.

yet meanwhile, I know exactly how well teams like Richmond and the Bombers are travelling at the moment. Could a Melbournian AFL fan tell you how well the Raiders are going? No. Impossible.

I can't believe that. That is kind of insane. Biggest game of the year so far, in any code, yet afl goes first, and not only first but the first three stories? I actually just don't understand this, I really don't. Can someone post the link to complain to channel 9, and also to Dave Smith or the nrl whatever, I want to contact both parties and let them know that I am not happy (not just about tonight specifically, in general, as we all know). Where are the two hours of league content we were supposed to get again? :roll:

I think it's becoming quite obvious within the media. Any chance to stick the boot in, they do. It will probably take a year to get the nrl media dept organised and liaising with other media outlets to produce positive news. But we shouldn't expect to always see positive news tho.

Whether this next issue needs a new thread i don't know but I'm pissed! I turn the tv on to get my sport fix that is wide world of sports and here is Afl's James Bradshaw host the show. First thing that gets spoken about is the 80k crowd on fri night at the afl. ........ WTF!!! Surely the Origin should be?? Channel 9 paid 1billion dollars for the nrl and then put a afl guy on WWOS. He goes on to bag league and says afl would of rubbed gallen out for months. ....... Am I overacting or is afl advertising themselves as a family friendly sport on nrl's channel?? David smith do something!

It's a great point, but instead of asking David Smith to step in, why doesn't Gyngell do something to protect his $500m investment in the game,instead of having one of his employees rubbishing it and talking up the other game shown on a rival channel.

How dare you, there's never any violence in Aussie Rules. A great example is when they interpret it as bravery when a guy is blindsided. Then there's the really tough stuff like pushing & shoving off the ball that often leads to sucker punches, wow - how macho. That must really attract the kids.

AFL are the kings of positive spin. They turn something like the recent acts of racism into making Adam Goodes a hero ( rather than concentrating on the guilty people ). Whatever happened to the 2nd fan who was captured on a mobile phone abusing a number of Swans players ? It was covered up & forgotten after Eddie McGuire made a goose of himself.

Channel 9 does a real good job with Rugby League. They treat it like a red headed step son.

Games on at any old time. Friday night is Broncos night. Sunday afternoon is the bottom two teams playing.

Absolute Dogs Breakfast.

The fans deserve better.
