Where are the days when wembeley was sold out for this event? 😳
Sadly gone and part of history.

RL fans have moved on from the challenge cup, Wembley and the trip out to London etc.

should be played in the north either in Manchester or Leeds when elland road is redeveloped.

maybe even play it in Liverpool and Newcastle when st James park is redeveloped also.

Nope, Wembley is the only thing keeping the CC relevant. Crowds have always fluctuated a lot for Wembley.
With Magic Weekend and GF also now on the calendar the CC final has lost a little in regards to it being the only big event of the RL year for fans to attend. Thats reflected in the 20% or attendance drop off in last decade.

it would be good to see the RFL do more to get locals to the game but that'd take some marketing nous and budget, things the RFL lacks in.

In the dress rehearsal HKR comfortably beat Warrington at Warrington. Expect a better performance from the wolves as they get some of their injured players back. Wembley is notorious for finding out not fully fit players, will Williams be ready?

Leading in to the CC final HKR took apart St Helens despite missing 5 starting players and finsihign the game with just 12 men by choice. Warrington took care of Cas after a late scare.
HKR go into the game favourites but anything can happen in a final!
Forecast is for possible light showers.

It's just a sad look when there's empty seats everywhere especially for a final 😕
Yeah, it’s not a good look especially when you consider the recentish history of the Wembley showpiece finals of the last 20-30 years.

i keep hearing people say this but im not so sure as there are a few iconic stadiums in the north that would be more than appealing for northern based RL fans.

why would Londoners and people from the south east region be interested in 2 northern teams they’ve probably never heard of?

an England international at Wembley is a different story as it’s got the England national team element to it.

Same reason I'm paying $500 to watch Origin in Perth despite having no allegiance to Qlnd and NSW. Its an event and if marketed right people will go because its an event. I'd start by giving every registered RL player in Southern England a 75% discounted ticket. Then run some promotions at Aussie and Kiwi pubs in london.

But like I said it will likely get a bigger crowd than any stadium in the North can hold. And it being at Wembley makes it more special for those attending.

Comparing RL in the the UK to Australia is like comparing apples and oranges.

RL in the UK just doesn’t have the same exposure or visibility as the game does i Australia hence why tickets for origin sell for $500 a pop outside of the games traditional heartlands for origin.
