OK so we have some time between that pathetic performance against manly.

What do you guys do?

I personally feel like we lack some creativity in the halves. I'd bring Cornish. I'd also look at moving campo to lock or fullback if it meant him not wearing the 7.

Our forwards are massive but lack fire power. Tilse can look menacing and so can white but generally not enough impact. We need someone like Pangia and also more minutes for Boyd.

I'd love to see Cornish get a run. I've had enough of Tupou as well, wouldn't mind seeing someone like Hawkins given a shot.

I'm not sure we'll see many (if any) changes. They'll probably be given a chance to make up for it.

Our Wing stocks are very limited atm. I don't think Tupou and Robinson are 1st grade standard wingers, but who else do we have?
Sami Sauiluma? Absolute turnstyle defensively.
Hawkins? Is more of a centre.
Brenko lee? Not ready.

Our main problem seems to be our second row. Lacks any punch. Papa is no where near last years form (looks a bit overweight) and Edwards, although ok defensively, doesnt offer much in attack. I think we really miss Joel Thompson.

Not sure what the fix is. Promote the Pangai's? Jack Ahearn to wing? Who knows, but clearly we need to throw the checkbook at some big names in the offseason.

Im really over supporting this club. These types of performances are becoming more common every year and to be honest I cant see this club improving anytime soon.

The reality is this club is going to be down the bottom for many years to come. Milford would be a complete fool to stay here.

Ive been feeling the same way.

I have not seen any positive improvement. We are far to inconsistent. Just looking at the other teams, they are generally pushing for improvement, which is expected. Take the Dragons, as much as I hate them they are at least recruiting. What have we done? We simply expect our players to come through the grades and play like legends of the game.

We have some talent in the juniors, but its like every year we have the mentality that we are building for next year?? like WTF...Can we try and have a crack sometime in the near future...

This simple game plan does not work. Our forwards just dont have the ability they had approx 2-4 years ago. Tilse, was never a starting prop and still isnt. White is past his best. Shilington only plays well up until rep footy then goes missing. For a big pack, we get belted up the middle far too often.

We need more flair, more decoy runs, more offloads. As an example, we get pumped by 50, we offload the ball 4 times. We have zero attacking ability. Its like they are too scared to deviate from this 2002 game plan.

It's been pretty dead since The GH picked up.

I post there occasionally but has become too much of a police state in the last few years.

f**k this forum is dead. I remember a few years back this was quite busy. Where are my Raider brothers???

Almost everyone abandoned LU in favour of the GH. I post there occasionally but find the quality of debate to be quite poor and the number of posters who continue to follow the club from the top down in such a blind fashion irks me no end.

As opposed to the quality of posting and debating on this site?

This thread started touching on how we all feel about the club so I might as well put my emo two cents in.

Now I am talking Rugby League only here I understand financially the club has done well so when I say the club is a failure I mean in all the areas that I pete cash as a fan care about.

The club has been a failure since the inception of the NRL. We are the only side not to play in a preliminary final and one of four clubs not to feature in at least one grand final. One of those clubs (the sharks) do have a minor premiership to their name in that period. We have a best finish of fourth.

there is both a disgusting attitude of nepotism at the club itself, an almost frightening level of dislike towards the fanbase and the joint is run pretty much with the goal of making some cash and maybe winning a football game every second or third week. To make the 8 every second year is mission accomplished at the canberra raiders.

I do not understand why the club hates its own fans but this translates to terrible crowds (along with terrible performances). Who can forget the family farm line or the losing 30 games in a row line. The Canberra Raiders really don't give a f**k what we think.

I am sure that when the decision was made to sack Furner the club just went to the next old boy they could get and gave him the job with no more thought than A) did he play for the Canberra Raiders and B) is he mates with the board. If he met both A and B he was in.

This is not even talking about the players. Who seemingly do not want to take responsibility for how much they suck. Campo doesn't seem to give a shit he was hiding behind Stuart at the press conference. The SLG who let us not forget were responsible for sacking David Furner a man who was not a good coach but has done more for the Canberra Raiders than any of those shitheads are the ones playing like absolute goons. I remember in Josh Dugans first two years I questioned if any of the senior players felt embarrassed that the side was essentially being carried by a rookie. Obviously not the culture stinks at the club and it stinks more than Cruisergate and Wighton putting up a whingey picture. It stinks right in the SLG who seemingly care nothing more than just rocking up and putting in a mediocre performance. Defence is about heart and some of the most heartless players over the last two weeks have been the guys who should be setting the example. Not getting run over for tries.

I mean obviously there are player issues that standout like crazy. Papalii is injured, fat and underdone, Campo is honestly a ghost out there, Wighton is arguably being played out of position but even then he is expected to learn to play NRL level 5/8 next to the ghost of Terry Campese. The forward pack is appalling with the exception of Vaughan, Boyd, Fensom and Edwards and even Edwards is simply honest. Papalii would normally be in the exception list but he has been simply terrible since returning from injury.

Our supersub Josh McCrone comes on the field and instantly starts throwing awful passes and taking the wrong option so we are on the backfoot as soon as Buttriss (the slowest hooker in the NRL but in fairness he has been ok this year) goes off the field to have a meat pie and a beer the backline was once potentially the best in the NRL is now a wasteland containing Jarrod Croker one of about 4 Raiders players you would feed, a rookie, RR who can be a lazy shit and I question if he can be a first grade winger and arguably the worst ever raider in Bill Tupou.

Milford defence is as effective as the maginot line and he is not playing for the Raiders next year anyway.

Cornish is going great for Mounties but Ricky is what...to scared to play him

nice rant and I agree with every word.

The club has made some big mistakes over the last 5-6 years and is now paying for them.

- Signing Furner on as coach after Henry left. Now Furner is a club legend and did some good things as coach. He brought some good players to the club (Shillo, Ferguson) and retained some who could have easily left (Papali, Dugan). However the decision to appoint him seemingly without considering other options reeked of nepotism and unprofessionalism.

- Signing Campese on a 5 year contract. It was hard to know that he would succumb to injuries as bad as he has but maybe the club should have checked his physical condition more thoroughly before signing him on such a long term contract? Five years was too long for a guy who had only one great season under his belt anyway.

- The Milford saga - This has been a disaster for club morale and culture since it began last year and it highlights a bigger problem with this club that I have noticed since Carney was here. The club seems too desperate and willing to bend for any potential superstar that comes along. Guys like Carney, Campese, Dugan, Ferguson, perhaps Shillington and now Milford have been elevated up to untouchable status and I think they and other players at the club get it in their heads that they are bigger than the club and can hold it to ransom. Other senior players don't need to perform as if the Raiders should just be greatful they haven't left for another club. No wonder the culture of the place stinks.

If I was Don Furner I would give Milford an ultimatum, you sign with the Raiders tomorrow or you play the rest of the year in reggies.

I watched Mounties come back and kill a very young Warriors Cup side.

Foster was very good.

Saulima scored a few tries.
Hawkins however for mine is a player I would blood now.

Otherwise he will get picked up by somebody else imo.
Makings of a solid NRL centre.

Moses Pangai like always had a few good moments.

Oh and your NYC team got thrashed by 50 - which was suprising.

Has the team been announced?

Is it time to put Milford back to Reserves and put Robinson to fullback? Robinson doesn't have Milford's flair but is a bit more rounded as a fullback than Milford.

It's been rumoured that we are going back to the future with campo and mccrone the halves. If Cornish isn't on the bench I'm going to be rather vexed.

In our last 15 games we are 3 W 12 L and our average points conceded is a whopping 33.7 poins a game.

We are a complete and utter rabble.
