Channel Nine Coverage....

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it f**king annoying when channel nine change camera angles all the time as a try is unfolding.

You always seem to miss a pass or a step as the camera changes and I just find it very, very annoying. They seem to want to change to the head-on shots all the time. I would be interested in other people thoughts on this.

They did it during Haynes try yesterday and Burts too. Why can't we just see the try unfold and then show different angles for the replay. It really gets my goat !!

Happened in the Billy Slater try on Friday as well, pretty annoying cause you don't know whether there are defenders in front of them or not.

yesterday the angle for haynes try was an absolute joke..it might depend a bit on the stadium and possible angles they can get..i think a stadium like suncorp can get more angles especially at a higher point so they dont have to bloody zoom in on players heads like they do at a place like kogerah..i hate watching newcastle games too the camera angles are absolutely shocking

Agree completely, Hayne's try was so annoying you couldnt tell how far out he was from the try line until he suddenly put the ball down.

The Ch 9 Director had a bit of a shocker on Haynes try, at least the first replay was of the high angle.

Having said that, i think 9's coverage on the whole is damm good.

Thank f**k it's not just me. I was gonna start a similar thread after seeing the Hayne try but I didn't think it was worth a whole thread. It's f**king ANNOYING! Why don't they keep the change of angles for the replays only?

They try and get too artistic by showing off all their different angles. This is to the detriment of the viewer. Also must be time for Rabs to give it away... I sometimes wonder if he's calling the same game we are watching....

Watching it now.. how good are the little statistic boxes with photos that always come up. little things like that could be used just as well for rugby league

The NFL coverage is unbelievable. I've got no idea how much it costs but it looks one million times better.

Yeah I'm not really into the NFL much but I've watched a few games just because it's so damn well presented.

Ch9 really pissed me off with their stupid camera angle for Haynes try, completely ruined it and I had to watch the replay to see what actually happened.

And they focus on the ruck way too much. Fox sports zooms away from the ruck and shows the field as soon as the player tackled puts his foot to the ball to play it. While Ch9 doesn't take the ultra zoom focus off the ruck until after the dummy half passes the ball so you cant see what is actually unfolding.

Theres no one to take over from Rabs.

They are out there but most are signed to foxsports. Even Voss is better at the moment. Listen to the foxsports commentary in the highlights compared to Rabs for the same game. http://www.foxsports.com.au/league/video/0,,NRL%20News_15715,00.html

rabs has been on the decline for years but because of his status he's a koala, like players who were good in their prime and even when they should have retired 3 yeaRS ago you feel you cnat bag em now for what they've achieved previously.

the hayne thing was overdone, trying to be too clever, especially where they spliced it afetr the game and showed the whole movement about 10times from different camera angles every 1 sec so it looked like he beat 30 players

my pet hate is broadcasters showing replays during play. You often miss a tackle or two or worse, hear the crowd roar from something exciting happening which you can't see.

How come the Fox Sports commentators bothered to commentate? The game was only on Channel 9 I thought. For the record I hate that Fox Sports commentator... Warren Smith is alright but Andy Raymond just shouts out the players name and he is a complete d*ckhead as well.

for the finals, fox use their own commentators for their replay of the game

The Rugby League coverage has always been a disgrace.

I've lost count the amount of times they've gone to ad breaks at inconvinient times, flashed it onto the bench as a play is about to unfold or change the camera angle at crucial stages of the match.

Dead set, compared to being at the game itself, Origin 3 was almost unwatchable. I couldn't believe the amount of moments viewers missed out on watching on telly.
