I reckon he could easily get a downgrade anyway

yeah but he can't go in and plead not guilty then if that fails plead guilty but ask for a downgrade.

The question is what is the points difference for a guilty grade 1 compared to a early plea grade 2? Doubt it's worth wasting the time on.

Actually, I think he can. Pretty sure it's been done before.

Might not be a bad result fighting the charge because surely he would be a good chance of beating it. Secondly if he doesn't he serves 1 week suspended wiping his slate clean coming into back end of season. No carry over points.....

mate, at the end of the day, no matter how minimal contact was to the head, there was some contact and I guess he had to go.

Wouldn't Stone look like an idiot know!!

but initial contact was with the shoulder, it then deflected upwards. That is not intentional.

There'd be several hundred tackles every weekend that have contact with the head - doesn't mean they are chargable offences.

I honestly think PJ could get off if they wanted to defend it - but its probably not worth the risk....after all he wasn't wearing red/white/blue at the time.

he was't charged with an intentional high tackle. he was charged with a dangerous high tackle.

if he fought it and lost.. is he gone for 1 week?

like someone else said... a few people have got points under there name.. moris, morisson etc...it could be costly come finals time.. better to try and fight it and reduce the chance of pj possible getting charge in round 26 etc or finals and miss him in a cruical match later on

No he wasn't. If you are going to fight me at least get your facts right firstly. If not get the hell back to the Saints forum where you belong.

What could happen is that Marsh goes into contest the grading then if successful in getting it downgraded appeal the downgraded charge and get off that.

Barett successfully did this for a finals match in 2002 from memory

He was up for a charge got that downgraded then went back the next night and got the downgraded charge thrown out and was free to play.

I thought that was 2001, cause it was around the same time as Micky V copping his. Anyway, I don't care if barrett is a cleanskin or whatever, thuggery is thuggery and I say give him the same length as Danny Williams.....

That's the thing with the judicary. People look at things and say, that doesn't deserve that many weeks. But when you take into account carry over points etc you can see where it does work to penalise repeat offenders.

I wonder how exactly Dean 'bullsh*t' Ritchie researched his article in the Telecrap today...

The score was 16-14 to Parramatta and most agreed, including Eels coach Brian Smith, it was the turning point of the game.

And yet...

Brian Smith said:
Q) NATHAN BROWN HIGHLIGHTED THE TRY SAVE BY NATHAN HINDMARSH AS THE TURNING POINT, DO YOU AGREE?
A) Yes, it was one of the turning points. The match was a bit like the Pacific Highway tonight, there were twists and turns everywhere. There were so many big plays by some many people - Wade McKinnon did a great job to keep his head when the disurbance was on, Mick Vella's play that led to the second try when he started from zero, and Widders himself for a couple of passes for tries, I just thought it was time for all of us to go home when Eric Grothe chip kicked for a try - itslike, forget it. Eric is an air swing man off kicks normally.

More lies as per usual from the Telecrap.
