Clark: Wow he impressed me. He made strong carries and was strong defensively. He was also doing ball playing too which was great to see from him. Hopefully in the season he can be involved in wrap around plays.

Musgrove: Don't know why he didn't play???? Considering he didn't you'd think he will be 18th man for round 1 and might have a hit out with Norths to get some game time. I like Musgrove and he's far better than Tyrrell.

Tom: Same as George.

Cherrington: Got 9 minutes early in the second half and 9 minutes at the end. So he played 18 minutes. He was helter skelter. He seems tring but he rushed out if the defensive line a couple of times with air swings which Madge wouldn't like. If injuries hit we will use him. I expect him to start the season with Norths.

Crichton: Only got 25mins. He was running into the ball hard and was strong defensively. He ran a very good line for his try. I hope he's there for round 1 but I feel Madge could pick Rochow. I hope Crichton keeps Turner on his toes.

Kelly: A dud imo.

Jennings: The fact he only got 20mins shows me he won't be there for round 1. He made a porr defensive choice too. The previous trial against Manly he let in 2 tries from a poor read and a poor missed tackle. Norths to start the year off for him. He's a good back up though.

Only 15 players used in the 1st half. I think we'll see 14 in first grade come round 1.
Burns look good on the right wing, which I think will mean Goodwin may be the 1 to drop out of AJs preferred left wing, as he has been caught out a few times in attack and defence.
Tyrrell was good in the 1st half. There was 1 set after our 2nd try that summed Dave up. He ran the first hit up of the kick, was a decoy runner on the 3rd tackle, and when Farah went for a run on the 4th tyrrell was the first to back him up and made us an extra 10m.
Turner was fantastic. He looks slimmed down, but I saw a shirtless photo of him at training the other day and it had me reconsidering my sexuality he looked that strong, fit and ripped.
The twin's are still a concern. Their running isn't as damaging as it used to be, and the handling errors are a worry.

I think the next half will see some experiments. Interested in cook now the challenge has been laid down, can't wait to see what musgrove, Cherrington and Chricton bring as I think those 3 may be going for 2 open bench spots
Talakai will miss out imo. Madge took him off early too.

Goodwin was fine on the wing. Talakai came in too much forcing Bryson to come in which forced the overlap. Talakai didn't trust Cody enough.

Tyrrell looks slower to me. He struggled to get over the 10m line off kick offs whereas Clark and Rochow got it to 15-16 metres out. He only made about 5 hit ups. He is Madge's pet though so he will be there in the front row for round 1.

Turner was surpisingly good. Many in my bay haven't seen him make that many metres ever. Could he finally be consistent for us??? I hope so.

The twins are a concern. They didn't have vigour in their hit ups and George knocked on leading to a Dragons try and then Tom knocked on leading to a Dragons try. They must improve.

we all went r20 we are still singing glory glory to south sydney
Oh good.

Were you in the sun????

Lol@Merge. McTortoise made one very good run but that was it. For the rest he was ordinary. He is too pedestrian with his passing and freezes. He doesn't control the ruck and get the forwards rolling forwards.

I laughed Shadow when he gave a silly penalty away today. Typical. Everyone was saying I'm glad we don't have him anymore.

I think Robbie's wrapped up an 80 minute hooker role.
He and cook were supposed to get a half each, but Farah ended up with extra minutes.
I think Farah earnt the role in the first half. For the 1st part of the 2nd half cook didn't do anything great. He had sloppy defence and made a few small errors. Then he showed what he can do with that try to burns and it changed things. That's why I think Robbie came back on, against the original plan. I think it was a way to see if they can work together, but it didn't really work.

I also think burns will be their in Rd1. He was already favoured as he was on the open right wing as opposed to AJs preferred left wing
I don't think Robbie will play the 80.

Cook was fine in defence. He made 1 knock on. He made good darts too.

He did the right things Cook and I'm confident he will get the 14 jersey.

Cook and Farah both on worked imo.

Tyrell made way more then 5 hit ups, would be closer to 10-12
Cook just doesn't have the heart to rip in in defence. He makes poor first contact, he doesn't bring anything to the tackle Except flops if he is the 2nd or 3rd man in. He rarely gets dominant tackles, meaning when targeted the opposition is guaranteed a quick play the ball, and falls off to many tackles.
Goodwin was poor. Constantly out of position. I thought he's workrate might save him, but burns out played him. Burns looked more comfortable under the High ball Even though he dropped it. He attacked the ball with aggression and confidence and if it had been anyone other than nene McDonald he would have taken that catch.
Talaki had a good strong game. I think he'll be there for round 1. It's a trial, you need to give everyone some time, Jennings deserved at least a chance. If Goodwin was considered for centre I think he would have been given some time there. He played the whole game on the wing and was comprehensively outplayed by burns
Thing to remember is that this game was unlimited interchange. We will have to have forwards playing longer minutes. Carrying cook has a huge effect on that. I think that's why for the end of the game we tried cook and Farah on at the same time. But that didn't work at all, I think Madge has hinted at that he prefers 1 hooker, that's why I doubt cook Will be there

Well I only counted 5 hit ups. No way was it 10-12. Anyone got the match stats????

Cook was very good. I know you hate him.

Goodwin poor. I don't know what you were watching. That's a load of BS. What about those 15metre runs he made with his step breaking tackles and making quick play the balls. He would have had about 11 hit ups. What about the try he saved after Jennings stuffed up??? The fact he played 80mins and Talakai didn't tells me he will be there round 1.

Talakai to miss out imo. Not ready yet to be an NRL Centre.

Burns looked all at sea under the high ball to me. He must work on that. Can't fault him otherwise.

Burns hasn't played a lot of football on the wing but still did a better job then the other guy. Was involved a lot more and did do some really good things in attack and defence. He was safe for a rookie. I just wish that Gray wasn't injured. Goodwin will get the first shoot at centre he is the safe option for Madge but is he the right option I think not, short term he is ok but longer term for the club future this year Goodwin should be playing for the bears IMO
He is the right option correct.

Hunt must stay consistent or he could lose his spot.

Tell me, when Goodwin saved that try what position was he playing? He played 80 minutes on the wing, yet his 1st choice for centre? Makes sense.
I think you'll be surprised by Tyrrells stats when you see them.
Goodwin was caught out of position so many times in attack and defence. He bombed a try by not being in position. I thought his workrate may have saved him, but burns easily outplayed him.
Cook was OK, the great try not withstanding. But Farah was better. Cook just doesn't fit. If he could have made it work when he and Farah were on the field together then I think he might have a better chance.

Wing. But he will slot into centre easily.

Why was Talakai taken off early????

Goodwin was not caught out a lot in defence. What can he do when Talakai comes rushing in unnecessarily. He has to come in too otherwise there is a big gap there.

You are over exaggerating. He was not caught out in attack imo. I don't believe he bombed a try.

Cook was better than ok.

In my bay they were all saying Talakai out and Goodwin to centre.

They all thought BRYSON had a strong game.

But Diego who was not at the game knows better!!!! Right!!!!!!!!! NOT.....
