2. Talaki over Goodwin in the centres. With inglis out, aj will slot back into one wing, with it seemingly between burns and Goodwin for the other spot. If burns puts on a blinder he may put real pressure on Bryson. Jennings is also on the bench.
That could be the case (that Talaki is first in line for that centre spot) but I think it is more likely that Goodwin will be centre round 1. Madge is probably just seeing how they go. They'll probably swap round a lot anyway.

It's a strong side for sure and this is going to be a very, very interesting game. The things that will be interesting:

1. How Goodwin goes on the wing. With Gray out, I still think Goodwin will start at centre but Madge could be trying him on the wing for when Gray comes back.

2. The two other wingers Burns and Jennings. By Burns starting, it shows he has the edge but their performances could very well change that.

3. George starting. I've said it all along but I think he will be our starting prop now he is over his injury. See how he goes.

4. Tyrrell starting. We'll see if he's up to it.

5. Cook's/Clark's impact off the bench. Again their performances will decide what happens in round 1.

I'm not so sure about that callmack, Talakai is very robust, a strong defender and can bust tackles, he may be the smokey for Rd #1.

He's a Smokey for sure! As is the case with a lot of others, this game will probably decide.

Maybe Rochow was just not good enough. He made some real lazy efforts in simple tackles at the 9s and on the highlights for the trials I saw he made a really bad effort behind the ruck that lead to a try under the posts for manly
Yeah saw that on the trial highlights. Was expecting a bit more but I guess he has the season to improve, if not he'll get moved on.

Interesting to see Cherrington so high up on the list. If Maguire's basing it on form he must be doing alright, I think he could be a valuable asset.

Well said. I know that Madge said he'll give Farah and Cook 40 minutes so each one will be important for their cases.

I'm liking the competition between players I think we'll have a good side come Round 1 barring any injury (touch wood)

Just going off 'MaGuire's insights' he said both hookers would get a half each. The way he said it seemed to indicate he is looking to see how each goes controlling the team over figuring a way to use both together (which he did last year). The way he said another option is to play them together' sounded more like an after thought/plan b.

Fine with GI not playing but concerned/curious about the lack of Fuimaono and Rochow, hope they're not injured.

In saying that though we could see a repeat of the Campbelltown trial with more players added last minute, it's happened before and it'll probably happen again.
Yep 4 more players will probably be added.

Fuimaono, Murray, Tasi etc.........

I hope so. I'm concerned now Callmack.

I will say though, Talakai is a good talent.

I'm hoping Madge gives Goodwin a bit of time at centre too.

I hope you're right on point 1. On Talakai too he probably won't be there for round 1 but he would be next in line probably.

On point 2 I can understand why Burns is ahead of Jennings. There is more hype around Burns and Jennings had 2 poor defensive moves that let in 2 tries against Moanly.

On point 3 I thought Tom would start. I just hope George gets back to his bullocking best.

On point 4, you know where I stand. My mind boggles.

Interesting fact, the last time we had a staying pack of Tyrrell, George, Sutton, Turner and Sam as running forwards was in the 2014 preliminary final against the roosters.

I'd have Cherrington over Tyrrell anyday.
