A come from behind win tonight for Chelsea against a spirited Reading outfit. Mourinho once again used his influence to good affect. took a huge punt using all his substitutions by 45 minutes and playing Wright Phillips at right back and Johnson at Center Back. It was a swashbuckling second half from Chelsea. They attacked Reading in numbers and gunned them down. If this is the style they are going to adapt this season Chelsea fans are in for a treat, if not a few heart attacks. It really was end to end stuff.

Ratings

Cech 5 - Has not had the most convincing start to the season. Bumbling a few crosses and paid for a miss tonight.

Ferreria 5 - Withdrawn at half time after a ordinary performance. Caught ball watching and a couple of times let unmarked players get behind him. Expect more from an experienced player

Ben Haim 5 - Does not convince me. Looks like chaos at the back at times.

Carvalho 5 - Went off after 30 minutes with a groin injury. A real worry with Liverpool on Sunday.

Johnson 6 - Did ok in a unfamiliar position in the second half. Although was not tested much.

A Cole 6 - Caught out once or twice. IMpressive on the ball, Looks alot sharper then last season, Especially going forward.

Wright Phillips 8 - Did a superb job at right back in the second half,. He has hit the season full of running.

Lampard 8.5 - Stellar performance in midfield. In a very open game, his engine was in overdrive. Made many runs into the box and tracked back and won ball in midfield. Very well taken goal. The longer Ballack is off the scene the better. Great captains knock.

Sidwell 5 - Substituted after 45 minutes. The crowd gave him some heat returning to his old team. In all honestly Chelsea were swamped in the first half and he didnt have a chance to show us what he can do. Will be a handy player.

Malouda 6 - Kept quiter today. Struggled to get a touch in the first 45 minutes but started to come into the game a little in the second period.

Kalou 6 - Exciting at times. Although should of had some end produce, whether it b a goal or a goal assist with the amount of ball in space he was given.

Drogba 8 - What can yo say? 2 games in to a new season and another Drogba stunner, another Drogba winner. Best striker in the world.

-----------------------------

2 from 2. United another draw, LOL.

Looks like Chelski are going to have a few problems this year... these are teams they should, by all rights, easily be dispatching. Cech doesn't look like he's up to it anymore, but he may just be a slow starter.

Then again, when you look at Man Yoo...

Eddie, can't you make a Chelsea thread and post everything in there?

Don't want to sound like Todger, but its hard to keep track of everything with so many new threads.

As for Drogba - dreamteam, first player you buy.

.

No

I don't like to limit discussion on Chelsea games to a "Chelsea fans thread". Other people watch Chelsea including opposition fans. Plus they are involved in plenty of big games worthy of seperate threads.

The Liverpool v Chelsea thread will be up Sunday Afternoon.

Thanks for your concern though Dodge;-)

Have to applaud Drogba even though it pains me to do so, what a screamer of a goal that was, almost as good as scholes ;-)

Hahaha, love that. You never get a compliment from a Man Utd. fan without the accompanying backhander.

Yeah, that would make it much easier to ignore if it was in the one thread.
Make it happen Eddie.
