Serious question guys, who are the brains at the club? Do you guys have a Director of Football style set up like City and Barca employ? Cos yet again you guys have done so well in the window adding quality and look to balance the the books at the same time yet again.

Nobody really knows the true structure.

Michael Emanalo is effectively our sporting director after taking over from Arnesen in 2011, he was head scout in 2010 which is around the time we started recruiting a lot of these youngsters. He's been credited in the past.

Marina Granovskaia does the negotiating since Gourlay left. She's responsible for the return on sales and tranfer fee negotiations. Tough Russian bird.

I read where AVB was taking the credit for scouting the likes of Hazard, Oscar Mata et al which is why he tried to bring them to Spurs when he had the gig at WHL.

That was around 2012 wasn't it ?

 AVB said it then it must be legit.

Every club in Europe was chasing Hazard and Oscar was playing for Brazil and Santos.

They'd all signed for Chelsea by the time he took over the yids.

Nice avatar Haff

I believe Mr Abramovich still has an active interest in recruitment, and has derived some sort of formula based on player characteristics which is used to figure our which players are worth pursuing

Whatever the set up is you have to say its very effective. Roman has the right people looking after the club. Completely opposite to the goings on at my club for years now.

Not quiet.

They hadn't signed because Spurs were chasing all 3 as well when he took over but were outbid by the Chavs, so then AVB had a whinge about how Levy wouldn't support him because he identified their talents, like he had right to them.

I think he was used to just getting whom ever he wanted at the Chavs but Spurs dont have a sugar daddy so we were never in the hunt.

That how he reported it in the media when he was with Spurs.

Yeah because he spent more at Chelsea than he did at the yids.

He only signed Mata and Meireles in August and Cahill in December

I thought you told me Chelsea just chased whoever the yids were chasing? Stop making shit up.

Mata was already a European Cup winner at Chelsea BTW

The answer would be you. So who scouted hazard and Oscar? Spurs or AVB while at Chelsea?

Twizzle said:
We had agreed to terms with Oscar, Hazard and Wilian and they hijacked the deals from us but not by paying a few million more, in the case of Osacr and Hazard it was 10 million more than the agreed deals with Spurs and Wilian was an extra 5 million.

For this reason the Spurs office is so tight atm, it would hold water as there is no leaks. Even the contacts we have at Spurs office are refusing to give out any info as the journos jump onto and all of a sudden its public news.

I think Chel$ki just use everyone elses scouts then pay overs for their targets. Money is just not an issue for them.

Make up your mind on who is getting the credit for scouting these hidden gems at Lille and Santos.

Everyone in Europe was chasing them. Did AVB tip them off too? So the yids scouting Hazard and Oscar was actually AVB while at Chelsea? Then when he got to Tottenham he said that transfer target every club in Europe was linked to from August to April (United, City, PSG, Chelsea etc) get me him, because I spotted him for Chelsea in my 7 months there. Sounds legit.

But yeah it's AVB who did our scouting by watching what everyone elses scouts do then pay overs.

This gem was glossed over.

Mata, Meireles and Cahill for the first team.

Yeah he was used to the sugar daddy kicking in.

Yep, thats pretty much it, except for you first line. It wasn't about who's getting credit, more so AVB was claiming the credit

If you read what I posted he got shitty because some of his targets went to Chavs by outbidding Spurs and with his arrogant attitude he felt he had the right to these players because he claims to have scouted them first. He specifically mentioned Mata but no mention of Cahill or Mireles.
