Yeah, I meant 20 mill as in he was worth what they value him at now pre Chelsea.. If that what the price tag put on him was. We all know what hilarity ensued though.

He's not worth 20 mill now though.

My point is, that stats are rightly placed behind lies and damn lies

We would not have win the Champions League without Fernando's contribution of timely goals and assists. It's been documented elsewhere that winning that tournament was worth at least £80 million to the club, if not more

So Fernando has certainly paid for himself

LMAO

Some folk will go to great lengths to try and justify f*ck ups.

Only jimmy could pretend 50 mill on Torres was money well spent.

FMD..

You could have paid Lord Bendtner 5 million to pop up at that time in the semi against Barca and run by himself all the way to the keeper and beat him one on one. You also could have paid him 5 million to sit on the bench in the 2012 FA cup final. If Torres were worth 50 million he would have been scoring 20+ goals for you every year, and you probably would have won at least another EPL title (or gone a lot closer than you have) in the period he's been there. If you had him scoring goals last season you probably would have won the league.

Torres' contribution across the 2011-12 season was far more substantial than one goal against Barcelona

I know this because I saw all the games

Did you?

So 6 goals in 32 league games is worth 50 million? 3 goals in 10 UCL games is worth 50 million? 2 goals in 6 FA cup games is worth 50 million? That's only 11 goals in 49 games overall. As a striker, his primary job is to score goals, and for £50 million that's a shitty return.

Torres made a significant contribution to Chelsea winning a competition worth well over £80 million

The rest of your post is waffle

I'm not surprised to see that mong is relying on statistics, since lies and damn lies are his usual currency

You would do well to think a little broader though

Hahahahahahahahaha

That's freakin gold!!

Don't look at the stats, you can't judge a 50 mill striker purchased to score goals, on how many goals he scores.

Hahahahahahahaha

Well think about it this way. You spent £50 million on a player to score an important but easy goal in a competition that's worth...let's say £90 million. So you only really ended up with £40 million. Lord Bendtner could have been bought for £5 million, and still would have scored that goal in the Barca semi final. So in the end, you end up with £85 million instead of £40 million, while winning the same competition.

Deduct all the prize money for comps they would have won if their striker could score goals as well .

That's following Jimmy's "logic" as well right?

Hahahaha

It's difficult to stop laughing at Jimmy..

First of all, you're assuming he would he have scored the other goals and provided the other key assists I mentioned

Secondly, we paid £50 million for five and a half years. So Torres has only really cost us £32m so far

And thirdly, Torres has provided much more to Chelsea for £32 million than Andy Carroll provided for your the net £20 million he cost you

I still don't know what's funnier - West Ham paying fifteen million or Liverpool losing twenty...

 It's still laughable to even think that his contribution has even been worth 32 million so far

Torres only scored 2 other goals. In 9 other games. That's the kind of return you expect from a 5-10 million player. You have a point about the assists, but seriously, you think that all adds up to a 50 million player? I say 50 million because I really doubt he's going to contribute much to Chelsea in the last years of his contract. Sorry Jimmy, but 50 million is a superstar price for players who play like superstars, which Torres has not.

Also, none of this argument has to do with Liverpool and Carroll. Don't pretend I've ever tried to justify why Carroll was worth what Liverpool paid.
