Playing with no striker the last two games doesn’t help. But the lack of pace in defence once Christensen was injured appears to be our Achilles. Teams are running straight at us and scoring through the middle. Bakayoko is not up to it yet. Not that matic would have helped he’s dipped post September as he always does.

I’d say we need to actually rebuild. Look at the players lost in the last 4 years.

We won the league in spite of all the issues.

He takes some blame for sure. Persisting with Bakayoko and not starting Giroud today from the outside and after the result appear to be poor calls. But it's a bit of everything.

It's hard to defend the title, it's harder when you make like for like transfers and don't build on the momentum. I've seen us in worse positions.

Yeah it's definitely in need of a rebuild imo as well. Christensen has been the shinning light for the season for you guys as well. He's come back from a great loan spell and looked first class. It's having Cahill as the main defensive option while he's out that has hurt you.

The usual defensive steel has gone with no protection in the mids as well.

The loss of a great front man in Costa has hurt as well no doubt.

Conte seems gone for sure now so it'll be interesting to see who gets the job for the rebuild and Abramovich's backing.
