Looks like our sale of Geezer has come full circle

Sell ---> win league ---> buy back for eighteen million quid less

"Highly questionable" indeed...

Makes up the differential on Matic. Haha

You guys know that's not how club finances are managed.
Chelsea didn't just hold onto the 50 mill that PSG stupidly paid for 2 years, also lets not forget the loss of revenue for not making the CL

I know...but how can you celebrate this signing?! Or are you and Jimbo putting up a united front for Chelsea...
He's going to provide a bit of leadership, which we lack. Not the Koulibaly signing I wanted but he's a fan favourite providing cover in a position of need. Hardly wrist slitting material.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought my Haha was a give away.

One year out of the CL isn't going to send Chelsea broke though. Just don't want to make a habit of it. PL TV deal has cashed up everyone, net spend over the last few years has them able to cover that loss.

His passion was sorely missing last season as well

The enthusiasm of those sorts of players can be pretty infectious among a squad

I just don't understand that amount of money for a back-up player, I wouldn't have touched him again after letting him go for 50

Plus, I'm not sure about his leadership abilities. Chelsea had plenty of other real leaders in the team when they won trophies with Luiz, such as Terry, Lampard and Drogba. He then went to PSG who were dominated by Silva's and Zlatan's leadership.

Brazil conceded 7 goals against Germany with Luiz in their back 4.

yeh, Thiago Silva makes him look pretty good though, best CB in the world imo

And if he plays against Germany in 2014, they don't at least concede 7 goals. That defence was a f**king shambles and Luiz was a huge part of it.

Is that figure really that crazy given the other figures being thrown around? He will be starting with Zouma within a year. Cahill is the backup and JT is slowing down.

yeh, a lot of inflated transfers this TW and it will probabaly only get worse

A player is worth what some one will pay for them

We literally have Fabregas and Azpi outside of JT and brana who have any real leadership qualities. He's not going to be captain but he's going to provide some genuine leadership in a team without options.

To single out one game is extremely harsh. He was being touted as a hero only a few games earlier. He's been solid in France. He's not Thiago Silva or John Terry but he's not Alberto Moreno levels of bad.

Like I said he wasn't my choice but given to silly figures coming out of Italy he's a solid option. We will be in the market next season anyway.

Exactly. Napoli reportedly wanted twice that for Koulibaly. It's not a bad deal in comparison.

It's crazy because you ruined a once-in-a-lifetime 30 million profit (agent fees excluded) you made on a very average player. I don't know how good that Koulibaly guy is, but if he's anything like you hype him to be, I'd rather be mugged to buy him than bring in Luiz.

Meh, Martin Skrtel was sometimes a hero too, still a shit leader and shit player. I'm singling out that one game because it showcases everything that is wrong with David Luiz.
