I agree Ipswich should get a team at some point, and had they had the financial capacity of the phins they probably would have been in already, but this idea that because the lions are based in Springfield the afl is suddenly a threat to the region is pretty laughable. It is as ridiculous as saying they are a threat in Western Sydney. The only reason the lions are even based there is because they couldn’t afford anywhere in Brisbane & their chair at the time was a property developer in Springfield. It wasn’t some great strategic decision by the afl.
