I think Manly's chances of re-signing Foran have just increased, not decreased. Firstly, Kieran wants to stay at Manly with his brother (who is signed until 2014 or 2015), he also wants to stay with DCE, he also hopes to have a successful career. All of those can happen at Manly, none can happen at 50uff$.

Kieran also wants to get paid. And DCE's money going from 100k to 400k+ makes that less likely.

With Taylor gone and Crocker probably retiring we can afford to throw a 5 year 4 million dollar deal at a superstar like Foran.

To be fair to Pearce he is playing alongside the worst possible partner. His career form came playing with Carney who ran the ball and allowed Pearce to pick his spots and pass or kick. 2010 was the year he played with the most confidence and actually played adventurous as times. Anasta just stinks the joint up.

Pearce would improve if he played the year with Mortimer. The fact that he is NSW incumbent though doesn't say much for NSW though.

You forget that playing for a winning team means a lot as well.

That's just dumb. If they offered Foran $4 mill over 5 years then it's little wonder you lot have won nothing since 1971. Anyone using so much cap space on a single player is destined for failure. Slater, Cronk, Smith, even Thurston aren't on that much. He wants around $600k but Souths would probably have to offer closer to $800k to entice him to a club of perennial failures.
