Rumour that Manly has allowed the winger permission to negotiate with the Dragons.
I think this would be a good signing.
One positive that Feagai has insecurities with is when Tuipolutu leaves his wing to defend " HE DON'T MISS "

Backline depth for 2024?

Flano does seem to have a innovation creative streak to him.

Half of the below players I never would have thought half of them would make the transition so successfully

2025 for Tuipolutu?

Beau Scott backs to backrow project?

Ben creagh wing to backrow project?

Wade Graham 5/8 to backrow project? via Flano

Luke Lewis wing to backrow project? coached by Flano also

Shawn Timmins centre to lock project?

Issac Yeo centre to backrow project?

Kurt Capewell centre to backrow project?

:)

I wonder if Christian cant wait to catch up with his MCL hip drop friend JDB?

Did Christian play again in 2023 after the game against us and JDB hip dropping him?

Appears he didnt.

he played rounds 15 to 22 all in a row then the hip drop and didnt recover from his MCL damage

What I've seen of him tells me and from what people I'm close with who support Manly tell me is that he is absolutely horrendous. I trust Flano like most, but some seem to think he is immune to critique and can do no wrong. In my view, signing Tuipolotu would be the wrong move. I'm convinced that some people talking him up haven't actually watched him play at all. Yes, he is a deceptively big body, but he doesn't run the ball back hard and use his frame. He is often dominated in contact. He is also no better, if not worse, than Mat Feagai was in defence last season. Constantly rushes off his wing Ravalawa-like and gets no body. Just watches his opposing winger gain a free passage to the try line. Simply, he isn't good. I don't think this would be worthwhile for us in the slightest.

Let's just wait and see if he signs with us.
Nothing official so far.
Sounds like there is an issue with the length of the contract anyway.
Like a few others here, I know and have heard the feedback about him is fairly negative.
Cannot say I can even remember seeing him play.
From one report, says he is keen to link up again with Flanagan.
Hoping if he does sign with the Dragons, Flanagan can iron out any of the deficiencies in his game.

So Manly had on board as their starting back 3 - Turbo, Garrick, Saab

They also had their depth winger Vaega and Christian Tuipolutu

They extend Christian for two more years beyond his 2023 contract for 2024 and 2025

Then they bring on board Jaxson Paulo for 2024,2025,206...........remains to be seen if he will be able to bust in to a starting spot.

You would have to think either Vaega and or Tuipolotu are surplus? ie one has to move on

The roosters will struggle to find a place in their team for Daniel Tupou after bringing in Dom Young. Meanwhile, they moved Jason Paulo onto Manly who then moved Tuipoloto. Meanwhile we are struggling to find 2 NRL standard wingers. Highlights the massive inequality that TPAs are causing

I would have much preferred a taafe or a Tracey or someone who can cover wing + fullback or ctr etc like Allan does.. But flanno must see something in him from his time at manly last year..

Sounds like he will end up a bit like rava, a risk.. But a cheap risk.. But it is 1 of our roster slots used up.. The season is about to start mind you, so we need someone, and iirc had 35 games roughly of first grade.

Not quite following?
CT played the weeks before
Hip drop happens against CT
Blatant and dumb by JDB
JDB in trouble
Penalty
On report
CT goes off injured
Doesn’t play rest of the season

Love to be proved wrong but another dud signing.
If anything our recruitment has become more sporadic. Though it's not quite Aaron Woods level bad.
Faitala-Mariner and Tuipoilotu are both 2 year signings. That means in a years time, if they underperform, we are stuck with them just like we are with BMM, Feagais 2 and blokes like Turner now. Signing them both in the last week or so means they were last resort selections yet on longer contracts. Doesn't give me confidence.

Ya can’t sign players like Faitala or Tui on one year deals … not saying they are top tier but they ain’t train n trial either

They are afterthoughts.

Maybe they will surprise but as I said, I am struggling to see the bigger picture just yet.
