I'm not in industrial law PJ, but it is a grey area and there are precedents both ways. I'd hate to see this go to court if the club does decide to sack him as I think it would be both a lengthy and costly exercise and the only losers would be the club and us as the loyal fan base.
I'm not happy with all the infighting and backbiting going on, but I blame the Board for most of it. I don't know how true this is, but I heard Ando Jnr found out that he'd been cut after trying to withdraw money at an ATM. His pay hadn't gone in and a phone call was necessary by him to find out what had happened. Not the way to treat an employee and Opes has a right to be ropable about it. Reacting by sacking Pierce and Burgess though only puts him in the same category.
Having said that, Anderson is still the Test coach and regarded by the administrators as the best coach in the game. That's good enough for me and I'll suspend judgement at the end of the 2004 season when his initial contract expires. Let the guy do his job and look forward to next year.
So, Miss Belinda, you can sign me up as well. My birthday is 26th April.
