mate the guy was playing 80 tough minutes week after week on top of geting picked for origin this year.. his workload was second to none in the souths team..
i think he was simply burnt out by the end of the season.
This.
Like most people who play origin especially first timers history shows it does wear you down at the back end of the season. This on top of his high workrate would be the reason for his so call drop in form.

Read this a few times re Frizell being suss defensively...sure he may have made the odd bad read but no more than anyone else in our side, he literally tackles very hard - far superior defensively and offensively to harrison for example. His speed and athleticism says to me he should definitely spend at least a few more seasons as an edge player...and remember he was running off fein, stanley and soward... My pack:

8 Creagh
9 Rein
10 Merrin
11 Frizell
12 Thompson
13. De Belin

14. Hunt
15. Stockwell
16. Cooper

His reads were terrible on the edge and missed tackles when couldn't set himself. Harrison's reads were much better but lacked efficiency in tackling.

His athleticism suggests he should be a much better player than what he is - lets hope he delivers on it.

Much more effective in the middle for mind where he can tackle when set with numbers around him and run straight and hard.

Sure crappy service but Ah Mau had same service and looked dangerous, scored tries and made breaks on the edge.

Who are these great second rowers we've already got? Thompson, probably a good first grader. Frizzell, could possibly turn out to be a good first grader, could also turn out to be a marshmallow eater. Then who? Ah Mau? Cooper? Harrison? FFS. Planks the lot of them and already way too close to first grade.

We need a back rower, a prop and a hooker. If there is even the hint of McQueen being unsettled we need to be in there tapping him up and fiddling the books to get him. Like Brisbane will be.

Seriously, FFS.

Our pack is rubbish.

Not sure ...what is it you are really trying to say with this statement ? :!:

Oh i just read "FFS" ...Ok. I thought you were beating around the bush. ;-)

McQueen will not be leaving Souths while under current contract. His existing contract is being looked at for an upgrade.
