Is the man in black the one who has been protecting mafia?
Night Seven
Xanta, sensing his friends were running out of places to hide, decided to make a new one. He approached one of his most vocal enemies and held out the candy cane of friendship. Fearing where the candy may end up should they decline, the former enemy accepted.

Jack Skellington had murderous intentions on his mind when he ventured out that night to deal with the man in black, but found his target was not yet without protection.

In the chaos surrounding his attempted murder of the dour individual, Jack caught sight of the full grown man in bright green intervening and chatting happily to the clearly agitated atheist. Unable to get away from the man-child, the man in black had to watch on with frustration as his intended target got away.

Xanta hadn't had any plans to go out that evening, but between the beckoning of the buxom woman and the timely arrival of a train, he found himself hugging the reindeer (not a euphemism) as it tried its best to keep up with its target.
Meanwhile, the sexually starved father of two stared longily out the window at the beautiful woman he was imagining in his imaginary pool. It wasn't until she'd entered the room, unzipped his trousers, and swallowed his candy cane that he realized she was truly there.
"Merry Christmas," he shouted as he reached climax, "And a Happy New Year!"

Old Saint Nick decided to leave a gift for a special someone. She opened it and found that it packed one hell of a punch.
Night Eight
Two figures turned their attentions on the man in black that night, with the King of Halloweentown and the frosty figure making a beeline for the enigmatic character.
The first of them found an anything but chilly reception when he arrived, and instead found himself engaged in heated discussion with the man he'd intended to kill.
Meanwhile, Jack Skellington looked to put an enemy to bed but found his attempt once again thwarted.

Day Seven
After the good people of Christmas argued among themselves over definitions of 'giving' and who had been the most and least generous with their time over the holiday season, they seemed to have finally made a choice.
As they prepared to act on their decision, the man in black strode out from the shadows and cleared his throat.
What followed was a scathing two and a half hour tirade against organised religion and the idiots who followed it.

Night Five
-------------
The train was about to leave the station when the man in black came aboard. He cornered the conductor and lectured him long into the night, ensuring the train wouldn't leave the station.

Night Ten
The King of Halloweentown had gotten it into his head to put a woman down, but found his attempt again thwarted by a lengthy conversation with the man in black.
