Tim Moltzen . I dont think he should even be playing 1st grade right now, he should come back later when his confidence is back.

Congratulations Simon Dwyer and Chris Heighington for your spots. Hopefully one of them will make origin (unlikely),

Gasnier should have been picked for City. Champion to wing, Merritt out.

Waterhouse should have been picked ahead of Cuthbertson.

With Gidley, Young, Lewis and Bird all ruled out with injury, this is pretty much the best teams that could be named.

I would have personally gone with...

AUSTRALIA - Slater, Yow Yeh (Boyd when fit), Hodges, Inglis, Morris, Lockyer, Thurston, Scott, Smith, Civoniceva, Thaiday, Myles, Gallen, BENCH: Cronk, Idris (Lewis when fit), Hannant, Shillington

CITY - Hayne, Hopoate, Gasnier (instead of Merritt), Jennings, Champion, Keating, Pearce, Galloway, Farah, Mannah, Minichiello, Waterhouse (instead of Cuthbertson), Fulton, BENCH: Symonds, Dwyer, Grant, Shackleton

COUNTRY - Dugan, Gordon, Thompson (Idris when Lewis fit), Morris, Uate, Soward, Mullen, Snowden, Ennis, Tolman, Scott, Creagh, Stewart (Bird when fit), BENCH: Moltzen (Young if fit), Heighington, Learoyd-Lahrs, Merrin

Unlucky - Douglas

Main changes I made were:

- Myles in for Australia, Creagh to Country, Houston out
- Gasnier in for City, Champion to wing, Merritt out
- Waterhouse in for City, Dwyer to bench, Cuthbertson out

Fifita was close too but apparently is registered to play for Tonga or something at the moment (probably didn't even realise).

I got a feeling Stuart has elected for Gasnier and Bird to sit out as they are certainties? Would have been the same for Gallen if not Aus selected.

I agree with that. City / Country is being used to:

1. blood younger guys for future
2. trial those sticky is unsure of

Any rep quality player that has been talked about a lot recently might be being rested. Especially with teams who already have a lot of players out next week.

Can't believe Idris was selected for Australia. I'd expect the Kiwis to put 3 tries on us when he is playing second row.

Greg Bird and Mark Gasnier are certain to be picked then, I see no other reason for them to be left out.

probably from the most creative player in either side , farah . whilst he's offloading to most of his own forwards , ennis will be checking his wristband for the sledges he prepared earlier .

Will they all be available?

Why do we need this game. I'll believe it's a necessary Origin trial if the blokes who have blinders are selected for Origin, otherwise piss it off.
