The thing the pisses me off with Thirsty, is when they calling Dragons matches, if the Dragons make a break, Thirsty yells that loud and talks that fast, I can’t make out what he is saying.

AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!
Morrow is sickening to listen to when he calls saints games...a player could make a minor break and he will go off like a looney man. Plus he breathes heavy every 10 secs when calling a game. No other caller does that.
I prefer to listen to Hadley call the games (just the call)

I wouldn’t do anything that drastic. By listening to the Vaudeville Show, I’d miss out on expert comments from the Wok. Don’t get me wrong, I like David, especially where Craig and Wok put sh*t on him about the Dragons

I listen to Hadley - but only when I forget that the sound of my own breath is more entertaining

I think Gould is ok, he brings passion and isn't affraid to state his opinion. More interesting though if you scroll down the article a bit the writer starts ripping into soccer. I agree with him on that one.

I'm not liking Gould's new efforts to win over the QLD audience with his severe sucking up to the Broncos and Cowboys, though he almost won me over last weekend with his pre Cowboys game rantings on the sideline.

That writer is getting something of a cult following as a blogger on the net.

He's not known to hold back. I got hooked after one of his early pieces about the differences in salaries between sportspeople and people working for charities and the like.

Very interesting.......

I presume that the author is responding to Gus' support for Joey in the UK, and maybe believes that Joey IS cheapening the test jumper. Ironic that such articles cheapen the occopation if Journalism.
It has nothing to do with that - and I don't know how you'd extrapolate this from the quote that is included in the thread.

It discusses his tendency to jump on an issue and repeat it endlessly in the course of commentary, and then pick it up the following week as well.

His current poster boys are Cooper and Gasnier - his "big outside backs". bla bla bla

I severely question your judge of character and opinions on.. not only football related, but every day life issues.

Shhh.... do your hear that?

It's the sound of me not caring about your opinion of me!

How anyone could not like Phil Gould as a commentator or columnist, is beyond me. He's the best by a long stretch.
In what way are you related to him?

You've gotta try listening to a Knights game being called by 2HD (local Newcastle station - 1143AM). It's akin to Costigan and Halligan on Sky NZ...the score's 20-all, Knights are leading.

I listened to the Bulldogs vs Knights last year when they called it on 2HD. It was the worst call of a game I have ever heard in my life.

Last weekend rivalled it mate, for sure.

It was the only way I could get a live version of the game while I worked. I now refuse to listen to the station. He is worse than Hadley, Costigan and Gould put together. I am not straying from ABC wherever possible, and I am never taking a live update of Newcastle game again.
