I'm not that overly disappointed in last nights score.
The effort was there & except for a few bad individual games(Reick, Peach) there were good performances.
The real comparison comes down to where the respective clubs are in regards to the rebuild both have gone through.
In that respect, the Dragons are 18 months ahead of the Sharks, or a season and a half.
The thing that takes the longest to perfect is the defensive strategy & technique.
The Dragons blew us of the park last night with good combinations & clever ruck running that exposed our defnesive inexperience, deficiencies & technique. Their defense stopped us from keeping in touch on the scoreboard.
We will improve on that.
St George/Illawarra have no excuses for not winning the GF this year they are primed for it. it will be very interesting to see if they make it & win it.
Or, if they choke as usual.
I'm looking forward to the return bout for us too. It will be much closer.

nice post reefy. I agree with your comments. Peachy was joe average, kimmorley the same. If both had been on it would have been more interesting. I know you can over examine a game and lay blame all over the shop, but.... that vagana try in the corner would have opened the game up.

it wasnt all bad - the club was packed with paying punters from both teams and i am seedy as today.

Always next week

what a load of crap

'or if they choke as usual'

your club has choked for 37 years

we have been playing without guys like barret, bailey, ryles etc etc
and we have still been winning

Well, for starters the probability of mass suicides amongst Dragons fans if we were to win had our management a bit worried. And secondly, I suppose we have to give closet internet fans like you reason to feel like your life is meaningful by being able to crucify us on 'life changing' fan forums.

We provide your reason to live, you provide our comedy in life. Works out quite well to be honest. 8)

Thats Dimitri summed up. In fact, I'd say most Dragons supporter seem to be 'struggling' when they attempt to post replies  . Quite common for them to post upwards of 5 symbols #-o .

Anyway reefy made some good points. The Dragons really do look like contenders this year. Although well beaten last night I really didn't think we were that bad - the queens would have beaten anyone on that form. It was a very entertaining game and whilst I hate to lose if the sharks have a go and are beaten by a better team the we can't complain. We have a lot of hard work and rebuilding still ahead of us and a series of hard games coming up. Let's learn from playing top opposition and improve from that.

For sure. I would hav been pist if we lost cos we gave away lots of penalties due to ill-discipline, but we hav fixed that now :D . The game was relatively close until last 25mins, I believe it was around 12 - 24 then it got away big time. The score didnt really reflect our effort, it blew out alot as they just gave up.

Our defence was atrocious. The Dragons bombed half a dozen tries. The score disappointed me because it is the worst loss at home I have ever seen. I think tonight was a real indication that the Sharks of 2004 are way off the pace as contenders. We will improve as the year goes along, but we have a long climb back up to emulate the sucessful sides under Lang.

I wouldn't despair Sheros.
I still believe they looked the best I've seen them this year early in the match.
Just 3 little half chances, some flimsy defence late in the set and they are down 18-0.

Good luck to St George, they played out of their skins and took every chance they got.

But the Sharks look like they are building towards something, and when it clicks someone is going to get demolished.

I'm tipping rd 11 and 12 against Manly and the Rabbitohs. And I think we'll give The Storm and the Rooters a scare along the way

And here I was, Dimi, thinking earlier in the year you had changed your posts and become a useful contributor to these parts....
