Or one about Hay
Sportsperson of the Year award was held in town last night. Great community event, good crowd, and a wonderful tradition that has been going for 40 years...

actually i have a feeling he might be talking about suity's thread about club communication .... now it was suity, so maybe it was just assumed it wasn't a keeper, i dunno
Good stuffSportsperson of the Year award was held in town last night. Great community event, good crowd, and a wonderful tradition that has been going for 40 years...
Good stuff
It's back!! I was beginning to think this thread was like the "Sydney panther". Does it really exist or was it just my imagination?
I like that letter from Paul Osborne and I agree with Suity to make it a sticky.
I am a fan of the Eels, not a supporter (according to BAE) even though this is my 50th year - Golden Year - of being interested in the achievements, and a voting member of the Club for the past decade.
I have not renewed my membership because I don't want the "but wait there's more" crap that goes with it.
I would prefer the Club said membership fees are $70...and that gives you the right to membership, nothing more. I won't rejoin on principle. Call me a silly old goat, a stubborn bastard, but I think the extras bit is crap with a capital C...doesn't do anything to me...The Club is under selling itself
btw - i think manual data entry of email addresses is fraught with danger - too easy to get wrong .... we should be able to do something online .... I find it a bit disconcerting that our online login is done partly via our email which seems to be something that has traditionally been hard to get right
So
The Club sent an email within a few hours to the Telegraphs announcement of Daniel's decision. So that is a tick for the club.
The problem is at the bottom of the email it has a note
"Prove your Heart and Soul is Blue and Gold like Daniel' - click here to join now!"
Yet that was sent to the members mailing list, I thought we had already all joined.
Most probably that will end up on the Eels website, but surely we don't need the ad for membership in the members emails right now.
You can't forward the email or the link to other non-members to get them signed up?
do the club emails show up as in like a mega small 6 point for anyone else or just me?
For the most part and then the bottom line is in 12 point and then the membership ad seems to be in 10 point bold.
Good on ya Pete, no one (not even you) deserves to be ripped off like that.
Sure I can, but is that the reason for the email ? Or is it to communicate to members.
