All "Supporter Jerseys" say is hey I'm a really passionate supporter but I'm too cheap to fork out for an authentic jersey. Yeah, I'd rather spend it on piss and smokes.
As others have said,generalisation.
Children don't care that they don't have the authentic jersey, they just want to support their team in their colours.

And as for adults being too cheap not everyone has the money to buy authentic jerseys and they shouldn't be judged as a result.

Those centenary badges on the Origin shirts look f**king sweet, but can we f**k off sponsors from the state teams and the national team. Club teams is fine...it sucks but we need it. But rep shirts should be sacred.

I don't mind the little Harvey Norman, Fuji Film and XXXX patches under the state crests or even on the sleeves, but a massive billboard slapped on the front of the shirts takes away something IMO.

$149 bucks in rebel sport @ chatswood for Tigers Jersey. As on 13/12/07. Juniors were 130, and i think the Old School Balmain were $119... but I'm not sure.

Honestly I don't mind the QLD jersey so much with the ads, at least they made a good effort to integrate it into the design.

What I don't like is the way the Wizard logo on the NSW jersey is just slapped on without even trying to integrate it. The Harvey Norman and Fujifilm ads that not only are bright red but also are offsetting the NSWRL logo are the worst imo.

Queensland were the first side to plaster sponsors across the front and back of their jersey. Wizard would never have suggested doing it with NSW if Qld hadn't decided their virgin maroon patch was worth little enough to whore out to AAMI.

Prices of shirts are ridiculous. SL shirts cost on average $100. Rip off!
$100 is a rip off, I bought my polo shirt for $30 at the Bulldogs store. You would have to say $185 is too much for a jersey.

The Origin jerseys are for games 2 & 3 I believe. A special heritage one is being commissioned for Game 1.

bring back the cotton ones!

Amen. Why can't the supporters wear something comfortable? Just because the players have to wear suffocating space-age plastic shirts doesn't mean we should have to. There are plenty of supporters out there (me included) who don't have the body for a figure-hugging shirt

Thats a massive generalisation mate. Maybe it means I'm a really passionate supporter but I'm too cheap to fork out for an authentic jersey, because I'd rather spend the money on sending my children to a good school, getting them uniforms, keeping a roof over there head, food in there mouth, electricity and running water. I'd rather spend the money on flying to Brisbane, Townsville or New Zealand to really support my team. Or I'd rather not buy myself a you beaut advertising board and my kids a cheap ass Best and Less Jersey.

Good grief. You've all taken this a little too seriously.

The supporter jerseys are cheap, and look cheap. They are made by ISC from inferior materials. If you can't afford an authentic jersey, get an authentic polo or training shirt. It's better quality and doesn't look cheap.

Why is it that people complain about the sponsors? I'll give you a tip, they keep your club afloat.

A lot of people who cry poor have a knack for wasting money on other trivial things, like gambling, Foxtel etc. Not everyone, but a significant portion.

Or in my case I'd rather save the money so my wife doesn't have to work and I don't have to send my daughter to child care everyday at 6 months old. You may be surprised to hear this but people do spend money on things other then jerseys, piss and smokes.

An extra $50 is going to stop all of that?

On those Origin jerseys, doesn't putting the logo in that spot, where it will most likely be tucked in the players shorts, defeat the purpose of it a little bit

get over youself knightmare, that is the one of the most childish arguments ever.

He more or less accused NSW of whoring themselves out to a major sponsor, as if they were the olnly side to do it. I was merely pointing out to him that they aren't even the first.

It's not really a matter of saving $50 it's more a general habit of saving money. This really is a redundant argument I just thought it was a bad generalisation you made and was unfair to categorise people who are responsible with money with people you waste it.
