Yeah, seeing as newcastle are wearing red and white bands to represent the first Newcastle side, that Gold Coast jersey is puzzling. Even moreso that they don't go with a Giants replica.

The puzzling thing about the Gold Coast heritage jersey is that it isn't folded!!:D

common sense should dictate that the GC wear their first ever strip, not rocket science. Although I imagine the current titans board do not want to be associated with any of previous failures, even via a centenary strip.

The thing is the GC Titans are not the same club as the GC Seagulls/Chargers/Giants.

The Knights aren't exactly the same club that competed in the 1908/1909 premierships either...

You're correct... well done. :D

lol :)

My point being, that people made the connection between the Knights wearing red & white and stating the GC should do the same with the 1988 GC/TH jersey - A fair comparison.

There's a section on that image of the Knights 100yrs jersey under the number on the back that says there's text of 'district, state, or region'.

I'm guessing all teams for their 100yrs jersey will have their location in that spot. I would also maybe guess they (the NRL) would like all teams to represent their region's first jersey. If that's the case, the Titans jersey should be that of either the Giants (grey, black, and white), or maybe the Seagulls (white, red, and black).

For what it is worth....Brisbane, Gold Coast, Nth Qld, Canberra (Monaro), Newcastle & Illawarra all had rep teams long before joining the Sydney premiership.

So you dont mind getting Melbourne hand-me-downs?

They say imitation is the ultimate form of flattery.

Pretty pathetic using another clubs design.

Again i will pose the question, how do you know who had the design first ?

Manly's was delayed coming out due to the finalising of all the new sponsorship deals.

Nice excuse you forgot to add originally.
Melb got theirs out first....a month ago.

Why does it bother you so what my opinion on the matter is...

I had a look at Mick Simmons the other day. I don't think too much of the 08 jerseys. Too many sponsors demanding too much of the jersey.

It doesn't bother me, just like to bring balance to things on these matters

This away jersey has been in the pipeline for quite a while, was originally supposed to be released later nov/early dec but the final deals hadn't been signed off, had been a few topics leading up to it on the MSE forums

Beside the point - who was the nong in the club who signed an agreement to allow Reebok design control? Surely they would have had somebody keeping an eye on the only other NRL club with Reebok as apparel sponsor, and the movements they were making?

Embarrassing IMO, can't see how any Manly fan would be satsified with what's happened, regardless of how good the design is.

I don't care really, and haven't yet found 1 manly fan who does, or a Melbourne one for that matter either that worries about the clubs having the same design.

They won't play each other in it so no big deal

Yeh.....its always those that dont care argue the point about a particular issue.
Those that DO care just let those that dont care speak for 'em.
