Thanks for that Pop. We should organise a forum card once we see the nominations. Not that I think there will be much change, if any, except for the retiring director.
I would guess this is the 3rd or 4th year running where Baz will run unopposed for the role of big cheese, numero uno, head honcho, the man. When do we find this out & who is running?
I think the forum should identify potential candidate(s) & make our own how to vote card.

No Reef, I am not running. I just dont have the numbers and I am also doing my masters so dont have time. But thanks for the support anyway!

I will be doing a little bit of work with one candidate. I have a meeting next week to iron it all out and ill let you know then.

lol - subtle as a sledge hammer jc

i believe the candidates list is out as inferred by jc regarding the ballot paper

i am one that has expressed a critical view and opinion of certain aspects of the board in recent years - i currently still hold this view in leiu of current financial reports for the period

with the elections fast approaching there is no better time than the present to reiterate LU guidelines - this ONE in particular should be a good start guys :D

carry on

And to kick off the conversation, I will ask the forum this;

how much would they trust somebody who is looking to be elected without full disclosure on what their intentions are?

That is of great concern then Gregos. Great concern.
Of even more concern is the lack of quality vying for positions on the board.
Right now what is needed is a succession plan with some influential people.
Good honest people who can get elected based upon what they bring to the table, not because of which how to vote card they belong to.
Lets face it, even a chimp could get voted in if hes on the right card? Correct?

Voting is 22-27 May, AGM 28 May.
So get on down to the club for a vote of thanks to Barry and the boys for a job well done. Or other, if you're so inclined.

Not if it is written otherwise in the charter, which i assume it must be.

Very disappointing that there is no proxy vote. I was lucky enough to book a trip down for the dragons game and then have the voting announced a few months later.

So no proxy voting ? I thought all companies had to offer proxy voting.

Hence no point being a financial member if you live interstate.

It's their choice though attract more members by being fair and open, or ensure it is very difficult for people to vote and deter them from membership.

So a good policy would be to get more national membership, as the shire & its residents, dont give a f**k really, do they.
Danger there would be that a very committed group , such as Adelaide could vote in their own board & thrust them with the relocation baton.

Well that would take a fairly concerted effort and a lot of members based in adelaide.
