Club Players not suited to Origin

It's been debated before but who do you think are standout Club players who can't/don't step up in Origin?

One who stands out for me is Braith Anasta. Despite having the ability to turn it on in club games, he is a f**king dud when the pressure goes on. He is from the Brad Fittler school of MIA and I can't believe we are contemplating picking him again

Jason Ryles - Another classic MIA player. Can't take the pressure of Origin

Trent Barrett - See Anasta

Kimmorley - His game is too hot and cold for origin. Completely inconsistent

Steve Bell - I dunno, but for some reason i don't think he steps up enough in big games.

Who else is there?

One for the opposite - Brent Tate always seems to play much better for QLD and Oz.

the entire Wests Tigers 2005 squad

won a premiership from 150-1 without a single Origin player and ONE token AUS player.

not to worry though; if things keep up it looks like we'll do it yet again!

I'm sure I'm going to have the Dogs fans up and arms about this but I've never been impressed with Andrew Ryan's Origin games compared to what he offers for his club.

Anasta? He looked good for NSW last start.

I just think its a case of it being so difficult to stand out at origin level coz everyone's standard is so high.

Agree on Tate though, he plays below average for his club and then comes origin plays just above below average.. lol. His shocking, wish he knew how to pass.

Funny that Ryles didn't play last year and the NSW forwards were dominated and lost the series. Ditto game 1 this year. But in 2005 when he did play they won. Hmmm.

I dont know about who else doesnt step up but there are definately players out there that have been mentioned for Origin that just cannot make it in the arena. Hazem is one of them. Is this kind of the same thing but?

Yeah Ryles was really the catalyst for NSW turning around the series in 2005, not that bloke, umm what's his name? Andy Jones? Andrew Johns? You know the guy I'm talking about.

I remember Ryles was the dominant forward in game 2 of the 05 series. Funny really, whenever Ryles does come up against QLD opposition, he dominates them....

You know it's funny you say that, because there was a time when QLD selected Langer, amid huge controversy, when critics labelled him as too small for the Origin arena. That was ofcourse prior to his performances in the maroon jersey.....

You never actually know till you try them......

Ryan always looks out of his depth in Origin.

He is the weakest link in a weak NSW team.

Kite doesn't impress in origin either, I don't know how he gets picked.

Next Skeepe will be telling us that Johns was sh*t at SOO as well  Seriously, does he ever say anything smart?

I agree with Ryles and Barrett, both play outstanding in rep features.

Hazem to me would be vastly out of place in SOO. TBH, SOO is not the place for solid players, and all hazem is is solid.
