Would say goodbye to;
B Hunt
Mbye
Bird
Ravalawa
Murdoch Masala
Burns
Musgrove
J Hunt
Along with Kerr and Woods already gone and not replaced. That’s 10 positions and quite a warchest to remodel the squad.
Another $700k if Lomax does want to leave.. an interesting recruitment drive ahead

Scary serial killer look. Maybe players should take the sacking rather than the alternative.

Back on topic
Thinking Flanno has to make the move NOW
there is just too much to attend to and must be done now
meeting on monday will more than likely see the back of Hunt , unless Haran is punted or he is shown a list of potential signings for 2024
Im sure SF is sifting through the roster and there will be a huge fire sale prior to seasons end
would like to see some of the youngsters given a go over the next 10 weeks
cant do any worse than some at present
some observations from last night
Feagai ..embarrassing in defence ...papers should be marked bye bye
Sloan must be in the side but where do you play him 6 or wing ?
Would experiment with Lomax in back row
Are Lawrie and Bird busted or just playing ordinary
Thought Carr was going ok but he hasnt fixed our abysmal defence out wide
If they arent following instruction , piss em off
Lawrie busted his hand and was back within two weeks. Not sure that heals in a fortnight. Hard to defend with a busted hand.

Listening to Michael Ennis just talk about The Dragons & how Flanno will make a difference with some of the players incl Bird, Bud, Sloan & Sua. His last last comment “there is a good football team in there”. We all know he & Flanno are good mates I don’t know whether I am reading something into it but Michael seems to be talking differently about our side all of a sudden. I wonder if he will be part of our setup in 2024 ?
I agree with Mick. This team has been poorly coached and poorly led for so long now that we don't know what some of them are truly capable of

Look at what Webster has been able to achieve with the Warriors this year.

Same roster as last year and no real superstars - but they look like a completely different team.

Coaching and the right attitude is everything.

We haven't had these two things since 2011.

The following was the best touted 17 man + extended squad that we could have fielded in 2018 (this was in a Fox Sports prior to the start of the season).

1. Matt Dufty
2. Nene MacDonald
3. Euan Aitken
4. Tim Lafai
5. Jason Nightingale

6. Gareth Widdop
7. Ben Hunt

8. Paul Vaughan
9. Cameron McInnes
10. James Graham
11. Tyson Frizell
12. Tariq Sims
13. Jack De Belin

14. Kurt Mann
15. Leeson Ah Mau
16. Jacob Host
17. Luciano Leilua

OTHERS: Darren Nicholls, Jai Field, Jordan Pereira, Patrick Herbert, Reuben Garrick, Steven Marsters, Tristan Sailor, Zac Lomax, Blake Lawrie, Hame Sele, Jackson Ford, Jeremy Latimore, Josh Kerr, Mitchell Allgood, Reece Robson.

(Latimore ended up playing most of the year off the bench)

This was (arguably lol) the height of Mary's tenure:

- A mainstay representative winger (Nightingale)
- A halves combination where both players have played for state and country (Widdop and Hunt)
- Vaughan, Frizell, Sims, de Belin all played in the Blues Origin winning squad that year (did McIness also go into camp?)
- England front row starter/leader (James Graham)
- Several other players that are doing well either with us or now at other clubs (McIness, Garrick, Lomax, Lawrie, Sele, Ford, Kerr, Robson)

But yet, we stumbled across the line into 7th spot after coming out of the blocks running top during the first ten weeks of the comp (and we were 85mins away from a GF apparently).

There is absolutely no doubt that we have been poorly coached, even in times where we had a decent roster, for a solid 12 seasons now.

But, compare the above to what Flanno will be inheriting, and I feel we may be in for some more pain for another couple of years at least. That is unless we can recruit some quality (particularly in the forward pack).

Flano on Gb.
Positive meeting Flano said.
Hunt aired grievances.
Both parties frustrated.
He wanted to train today but had the flu.
Hunt will play Thursday..
Flano sees him as a big part of what we will do next year.
A productive meeting.
Flano wouldn't go into detail of Hunt's grievances and what was discussed today.
Flano also said club will work hard to fix grievances.
Recruitment and retention he briefly said
A bit of work to do.
Flano talked about games this year.
He's doing behind the scenes work.

I don’t like this one bit… after all the crap that’s been thrown up how can I support Ben Hunt!

Later Flano was asked a question by a sms regarding 3 rookies said its frustrating watching them play.
Re Amone, Sloan and Sully.

Interesting Manly have signed Tommy Talau from the Tigers snd Jaxson Paulo from the Chooks.
Does that mean he will bring a few from Manly to us ?

Flanno is a wily fox...a street fighter and this is the type of coach we need at the helm...he will turn this club around pretty quickly...what does that mean? I believe he will recruit smartly and will make this team a team of scrappers and fighters...just need the spine to be on point..
We need a 1 and 6 if Hunt stays...I think Liddle is good enough to start...

The club has refused Ben from leaving , but for me its just a bandade cover for the time being , to see what they can get from the Titans in return if they want him so badly ....... Cant see him staying long term ......
