there was one of the cheaper sunbeam or breville machines($100-$200) cant remember which. but theyout performed a few of more pricey ones ($600-1000)
then i thinkthere is a factory outlet for them over near botany

I read a choice article (similar premise) about 5 years ago. A revile came in 2nd $200-300.
The machine that came first was about $1500, from memory. Needless to say I bought the breville.

5 years later still going strong and produces better coffer than many "cafes".
In my humble opinion, the key aspects are quality beans, and minimum of 15bar pressure from the machine.

On a related matter UE. Never get an automatic machine, always manual. Onceyou get use to the nuances of the machine you'll be making great coffee@ home.

I reckon if you put some instant coffee in a plain cup and whatever the fancy stuff is in a plain cup most wouldn't tell the difference, just like all those fancy 'wine tasters' who get tricked by bog cheap bottles.

Googling around there is around 80mg of caffeine in an espresso (i might be wrong)

333*80= 26, 640mg caffeine

The ld50 of caffeine is 160mg/k
