Is he a washed up has been selling out to reality TV yet?

washed up? i dunno, perhaps you could ask him. I guess reality TV is quite lame, much like turning to politics and contradicting everything you wrote and stood for, not that he evem really stood for all those things, it was all profit driven then as it's now, much like Brett without the forrest/environment wankery which sucked everyone in, inspirational.

Peter Garrett didn't write the songs.
Moginie and Hirst were the main writers.
Garret got his name on a couple for changing a few words during recording.

What this has to do with cold chisel is beyond me.

In an announcement that millions of Australian music fans have been waiting for

Overstatement much??

The only time most australians actually pretend to like Cold Chisel is when someone decides to play Khe Sahn when in a bar in another country.

All the expats will gather on the dance floor, link arms and sing "I left my hmm for a ladada.... KHE SAHN!! bla dee dee hmmm hmm hmmm hmmm....

WELL THE LAST TRAIN OUTTA SYDNEYS ALMOST GONE!!!" (yes, I am aware the correct word is plane)

then all quickly disperse before the 2nd chorus when their sentimental patriotism wears thin 60 seconds in.

khe sahn? meh... however Flame trees is a great song.

FTR cold chisel are not even in my record collection.

I must admit to hating "downunder'' by men at work until I heard it played by some Rhodesian rednecks in Zimbabwe.
They played it on a jukebox during a pool comp. They were using it to try and put us off our game.
It inspired us to take victory for Australia.
