It ain't going down. After next season it will go to 16 with both the SEC and BIG10 getting 4 automatic bids, you can put the house on it.They should take it back to a 8 team system.
The problem with the seeding is it is often obvious that a conference winner (eg Boise and Arizona) are way worse than teams below them. They need to re-seed after the first round.
No problem with a bye for division winners but from there re-seed.
It is outright unfair the matchups that Oregon and Georgia have.
Should be
Oregon v Arizona State
Georgia v Boise State
Texas v Ohio St
PSU v Notre Dame
They will definitely go but they will be replaced by play in games. If they go to 16 teams they absolutely need to get rid of conference championship games.
Money does talk and I cannot see many people watching those play in games. Not many neutral fans would watch. SEC would need Bama, LSU, Texas or Georgia involved in one to get any eyes at all. They will definitely go but they will be replaced by play in games.
So instead of the SEC championship game, you'll have a play in game between the 4th and 5th ranked team for their final automatic bid because money talks.
Oklahoma, Florida and Auburn as well...Money does talk and I cannot see many people watching those play in games. Not many neutral fans would watch. SEC would need Bama, LSU, Texas or Georgia involved in one to get any eyes at all.
