Colours and Jersey for the Gold Coast

Sport = business. Lions is not an option. It'd be like opening a resturaunt up next to Doyle's, calling it Doyle's but specialising in woodfired pizzas instead of seafood. Wouldn't have a leg to stand on in a court of law!

Maybe the first idea was shiiite, but I think a jumper similar to the old Gold Coast Seagulls (red white and black butcher stripes would be good.

You are 100% right, when Brisbane merged with Fitzroy to become the Brisbane Lions they had to pay the then Brisbane Lions soccer club for the rights to the name.

Call them the "Gold Coast Lions"

As RL is still more popular, use the brand to smother the AFL.

When any nes report says "The Lions won today", most people would automatically think of the RL team, regardless of who it is about.

Taking ownership of the name "Lions" in Qld would do big damage to the AFL.

I don't really think having an NRL team with the same nickname will hurt the AFL.

It would be pretty silly, let the Brisbane Lions have their moniker, the new GC RL team should have their own strong new identity.
