Well I’m shocked that at few thousand super fit teenagers would be interested in this type of thing after their commitments are over.

Was watching that but they were mentioning the Aussie guy was the world record holder (seemed odd) and they were only throwing about 16m. So maybe it was a world record for a shot put in a pentathlon or something?

Yeah I thought that too, but I think that those guys had some sort if a disability.[/QUOTE]
That must be it.

the beach volley ball was pretty cool to watch, mainly because we won them both

Did we end up beating Canada ? Wow I didn’t expect that after the first set.

I thought the athletics last night was wonderful. Eels girl Dani Samuels threw a world class distance. Enough to get her silver at Rio.

Funny I looked up the WR whilst she was throwing. The womans discus WR has not been broken since the 80s when it was going up and up by german and soviet roids junkies. The current crop of throwers are still 10m under the WR.

A lot of the comps last night were world class with their times, heights and distances - which nulifies the CommGames is a nothing competition rhetoric.

Melissa Wu beat the world champ and Rio gold medalist to win the 10m platform. She needed to nail her last dive to get the gold. She stood on the platform balancing on her toes and tumbled and twisted with just bubbles instead of a spash to snatch the gold. Gee those merkins are gutsy.
