No not a lynch mob in the street but take a look at social media since this has kicked off. Thousands of comments from people saying they’re standing with Leniu and that Ezra (or worse indigenous people in general) is a soft cock for speaking up about racism. No Leniu isn’t responsible for the shit other people have posted or said, but if he doesn’t racially abuse another player and then carry on like a f**kwit after this doesn’t happen.

Turning a blind eye to racism and telling people to suck it up is not a solution.

The solution is to stamp that sh*t out of our game and eventually society as a whole.

I equate racists in the same category as bullies. If you don’t put them down, and hard, they’ll feel as though their behaviour is legitimised and keep doing it.

That sh*t doesn’t fly anymore.

Act like a merkin and expect to be treated like one. Maybe the lesson in all of this is don’t be a merkin.

At the end of the day, Spencer Leniu, a fine young gentleman, has been outed for 8 games, for uttering a harmless word. This is a travesty when he's done no harm. He hasn't done a head high tackle where people get 2 weeks or a fine. Would you rather have your jaw broken by a head high tackle or be called a monkey?
