I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks now.
@shaggs mentioned it in the game day thread, and I agree, I think there needs to be serious questions asked of our conditioning.
Today, as with other games this year, we started fairly well.
@Frenzy. mentioned early on in the game day thread that we were getting our noses through the Tigers line pretty easily.
I was in the midst of replying along the lines of "it doesn't mean shit if we don't capitalize" when Galvin put Fainu in.
Not long after, Ennis mentioned he thought we were looking fatigued already.
A look at the clock showed it was 15 minutes in.
Around this time the tide started to turn.
We were no longer getting over the ad line, and we were no longer holding them in defense.
And we know what happened from there.
This seems a common pattern - 10-15 minutes of being aggressive and muscling up, then they fall in a heap.
On top of that, SFB seems hell bent on conditioning guys for short bursts of power from the bench - think Royce the last couple of years, as well as Tuku.
I dare say that is why Sifa is not playing longer stints.
He's been conditioned for short stints off the bench and is no longer capable.
Take today for example.
Sifa's first stint was ~19.5 minutes.
Why?
He was one of only two players causing any sort of issue for the Tigers.
The game was evenly balanced, and we needed to have our best attacking options out there.
But he gets subbed for Mcf**kingIneffective.
Again.
The only explanation I can offer is, as I said above, he's been conditioned to play that amount of time.
And all of this comes back to one person.
The one who appoints the strength and conditioning team.
The one who tells them what he wants his squad to be conditioned like.
Absolute.
f**king.
Pillock.
